Sport to S-line conv or Sport to S3 conv? HELP ME!

hello everyone

ive currently got a 2006 audi a3 2.0tdi sport in black. I want to do a front end conversion, it already has the big grill so will not need a bonnet change or anything major.

now i cannot decide what to go for..the s line look or s3 look?! give your opinion please i love both! shame you cant have 2 quick clip on front ends hehe.

i quite like the s line black optics grill i have seen an s3 black grill also, soo im not sure what to go for! clearly the S3 conversion will cost more yeah? and the reinforcement bar will need to be slightly trimmed for the s3 bumper.

Will the s3 black or chrome grill fit an S line bumper?

oh just to add i like the new s3 rear bumper with the greyish/silver diffuser would this look ok or just plain stupid? lol and if i do a s3 conv i will put an s line badge in the grill not an s3 one! haha

and ive got a pair of 09 facelift rear lights which will be going in!

id go for 07 s3 front with black grill and the 07 s3 bumper for the back so it matches i know it isnt an s3 but if i was gona pay money for the conversion thats what id do

would an S3 grill fit an S line bumper? or will a black optics sline grill fit an S3 Bumper?

i can get hold of an S line bumper grill is freely available, but if the black s3 grill fits init id be more than happy..?

i think both fit either but dont quote me on that.... wait for a few replys to confirm , i could do this conversion but short on doe at the mo i thinking of doing the s3 front my self id only need bumper and fog surrounds i may do it in future but id just by the bumper new from audi ...

Hi

S3 conversion will cost more than the S-line one. Due to all the parts costing a lot more. The S3 grill is too short for the S-line bumper so it wont match up with the clips. Nor Will an S-line grill fit in an S3 bumper it will be too big. I like the S-line front end due to that you can also fit the seat leon cupra splitter which always goods look and finishes it off if you ask me. But dont think it look good on the S3 bumper. If you want the S3 grill to fit an S-line Bumper you will need to glue it in!

S3 bumper about £200-£250 depending where you get it.
S3 Optic grill are about £220-£250 also depending where you get it from.
Then its the fog lights think there about £45-£55
S3 Fog Surrounds £19.99

are there any splitters for an S3 bumper? or is that not possible?

the cupra one does go on the s3 bumper and looks good but you have to paint the centre on the s3 bumper at the bottom in black or it will look silly

Hi no problem mate. I sold an S3 grill and S-line Bumper i'll get the photos to show you how it looked when the grill was fitted to the bumper. I thought it looked fine there a little gap at the bottom few mm but cant really notice it! The cupra splitter i think can be fitted to any car lol! Just never seen an S3 with a nice splitter on. I'd like to see Matts but its too dark on my screen! Well if Blazin wouldnt mind posting a photo of the frotn end of his car. Because i think he got it perfect! Looks really aggressive

Ahh i cant see it the picture too dark I do like the bottom part of the S3 bumper painted black! Looks mean!

sorry ash i havent got a pic at the mo il try do one later when i get home . also savs orange s3 has the cupra splitter on mate ... aswell imho it looks much better and suits the black surround and more aggressive in gloss black il post a pic inabit

Thanks for that Blazin. I'll check Sav car out now see how it looks. As if it does look good think i'll fit one. As i'm doing the S3 conversion aswell. But put on hold due to no job.

i swear i saw something very similar like that on ebay not long ago..! i was like im sure they dont fit so what grill is that! ha ha.! yeah its not much of a difference unless you really stare at it!

No problem. I sold the bumer/grill back in April but some guy was using the first picture last week and the week before on ebay for an s-line bumoper lol. Not much of a difference and as you can see only mm gap!
Hope that give you some sort of an idea

what would you use to glue the s3 grill into the sline bumper? and will the clips have to be trimmed off?

I went S3 with mine with black grill and glad I did. Isnt the S3 grill shorter than the S Line one. I cant remember which way round it is. I wouldnt like the gap, even though its not huge, it would always bug me.
