As you may know I have a built A4 with GT30R turbo.
I am very happy with the performance but I don't like my front bumper becouse it 's too low and fibre.
So ,I am between to buy a bumper or add new cams to my engine. Their price is almost equal.
What do you guys think ?

Camshafts.

Although, I must say I'm with you - I'm not tripping for that bumper at all.

I would go with S4 sides and bumper, as i am sure the performance increase from cams is neglegable IIRC and you would need to swap all of the valves, springs, and followers to get the most from it

I assume that you have looked into the cams and that it'll be a worthwhile modification.. obviously if it's not going to achieve much then go with skirts and bumper.

You guys don't help me :)
Yep ,the cams will be Cat 3652 which is pretty agressive ,and good for another ~40 whp ..
Cams, springs and exhaust valves are included to my price ,I mean it's equal to S4 bumper + S4 sides.
Hard to decide ,until now I always choose to spend money to my engine.
Another thing is ,the car will be on a tuning magazine on March thats why I am also thinking to upgrade the exterior otherwise I would choose the cams with my eyes closed :)

Go with the cams then for sure. I'd prefer cams and +40 HP on my spec sheet than styling parts.

Go for cams and find a standard a4 front bumper on the cheap so it looks like a sleeper until you get the cash for the S4 bits.

I think the same but I don't think starndart bumper fits to me ,I have 750 hp intercooler on the front :)

40bhp off cams????

I was always under the impression that the factory items were very good. The cams I've looked at claim approx 12bhp. I'm assuming they would require a remap or jiggery pokery of some description.

If they really can give an extra 40bhp I would love some more info.

Yep , normally mild cams will make 10-20 hp on a chiped stock turbo car but on a big turbo car with an agressive cams ,it's around 35 to 40 hp or more depends on your intake flow :)

I'd go for the power, that's a fairly decent increase! 40hp, or some plastic.......

Ok. 40 hp is good for stock car but ummm for 400whp car?
The car is quite scarry on the road now :)

10% more power when already at 400 is a good achievment IMO.

Scary is always good too (as long as it doesn't kill you obviously).

As Bob says @qedpower 40-60 whp ,I asked today again :)
I think ,I will look for second hand 2001 A4 bumper and will try to fit it.
If it fits ,I will go with the cams too ..

yeah but did you ask him for a dyno to see what revs you are getting that extra 40-60 at? bet you its shifts your curve way to the right. if you don't already have an uprated valvetrain you are asking for a coil bind, valvefloat or valve drop problem.
Bob knows his sh1t and advised me on pretty much everything i bought, that said anyone running cams is running supertech valvetrain as the stock (exhaust) valves are pants.

the stock cams are pretty good.
what do you have for inlet mani? is it a 3071 turbo?

How do you want to be remembered when you beat someone. That really fast gash looking a4 beat me rubbish.

Or the a4 that looked standard owned me and it must be a sleepter wow respect.

I would like to say go for cams too :)

With the big turbo on there you will be able to shift the power range a little and usually keep a little more power at higher RPM (depending on mapping)

But saying that we have always been more in to the performance side of things :)

Yeah.. I'm feeling the sleeper with 400+ hp vibe :ninja:

if you need 440 vs 400 to beat someone it is a pretty close race.

I would want to find someone running those cams on a GT30 (71?) to see what they are getting and where it sits on the power curve before shifting it all to the right

I did not mean it in the race sence seeing a gash car no matter how much HP has no respcet from me I have seen some awesome cars from Japan some with crazy power but with the wrong kit they just look like no one took the time with the car and gave it the look it needed to suit the power.

Hi guys,
I take the S4 bumper on saturday from Audi.
However ,I will also upgrade my cams few months later :)
Thanks for your comments ...
