S3 Re-spray??

Hello,

I have an 07 S3 in brilliant red, but have recently seen a few Ibis white models around and they look amazing, which has prompted me to think about trading mine in for a white one.

This may sound stupid but does anyone know if Audi would be able to spray mine Ibis white? if so, roughly how much would it cost?

I obviously should have thought about it more when i was orginally buying it:wacko:
 
Audi will be able to do it , but it's gonna be a BIG BIG job ,for proper job, engaine out , interior out , ect , then put it all back in 4k ?

It'll be better to trade in and get a white one i recon.
 
DONT DO IT!!!

There are not many red S3s around...infact, I think I've never seen any other one.
 
Yeah i havent seen that many about but there is a new 08 plate in my area thats just appeared.

Problem is, i have done 20,000 miles and the cheapest used white S3 is £27,450, i rekon mine is probably worth 22 - 23 k

Its gonna be expensive either way, how long would the re-spray take?
 
If you respray it in another colour then I think it will take away value from the car with it not being its original colour
 
1-2 weeks , TBH mate for a proper job ( theres no point in doing it other wise ) there gonna have to strip everything out of the car so it's just the shell, and it's gonna be mega money , get a quote , i don't think you'll get much change out of 5k

The finish is gonna be nowhere as good as factory, and i wouldn't be supised if your cars not the same as it went in , and i don't just meen the colour!

Trade it in if you really want the Ibis, don't forget you won't have the 20k on the clock either, thats got to be worth a few k on it's own!

Youwill kill the vaule of the car, plus it will be mega expensive - £5 + from Audi, and also take on a whole load of new problems. - It would take at least 4 weeks

Just trade it in and get another
 
yeap... trade in... forget respray... to it properly almost all the car needs to be stripped, includes some interior trim as well....

and it won't be factory rebuilt!!!!

Trade in should be easy and a lot cheaper just search for a same spec as yours and should be able almost to trade it for free...

A newish car like yours would never be the same if it was resprayed. I wouldn't even have considered a respray to be honest.
Just trade it in, no brainer pal!

Yeah a trade in is obviously the best thing to do, there is an Ibis in leeds at the moment but doesnt have the bucket seats and is £27,450 im probably just gonna wait til one nearer to the 20k mileage comes around.

The red is nice but an Ibis was behind me on the motorway the other day and it looks meatier, you can also see the S3 badge more clearly

Did he have a black grill? that makes the S3 badge stand out more.

While your waiting for a 20k ibis to turn up , you'll be putting the miles on your car? you'll be very lucky to get the perfect spec unless buying new , buckets CAN be bought and added later! something to think about.

£4k?? and the rest plus you'll cane the resale value - I'd certainly ask questions if I came to view the car and found out it had a colour change via a history check

agree that it would be far, far cheaper (and easier) to flog yours and buy a white one
 
4k was my first thought , then i rememberd that they wanted £550 for bonnet and bumper respray!

Yeah its got the black grill, i asked audi if i could swap my front seats for the standard ones in the Ibis, they said they couldnt do it but surely they can?

Apart from that its the same spec, i would have to go back the statller and kindly ask if he could remap the new car FOC as i have paid the money, any Ibis owners wanting to swap?? :ohmy:
 
There must be a deal to be had , ask them to round the prices down a bit , so you take the buckets with you.
