Thought I would check the cam follower as I'm not sure of condition or when last changed. To me it looks fine....any thoughts? Pics of how I done it too if it helps someone.
1) release pressure from this Schrader valve (There should be a black cap on it, but just pull off). It's under pressure so wrap a cloth around it (safety specs good idea), press the valve with screwdriver or the like, and catch fuel.
2) Next remove the schrader valve by undoing it with a 13mm spanner. Then unclip both sensors as seen in above picture just to free it up a bit. One grey one on left of fuel pump, and the black one on top.
3) Next using a 17mm spanner undo the fuel pipe underneath the pump as shown in pic. Good idea to keep your cloth handy for catching fuel too.
4) undo the 3 x t30 torx bolts as shown
5) Pump is now free so should wiggle out, and the cam follower can just be pulled out from the recess by hand.
6) here's a pic of the follower.....any thoughts on condition? To me it looks good with minimal/feint marks on it.
Hope this maybe helps someone. For how easy it is to check its worth doing. First time ive ever checked one and its simple, took 30 mins....next time would be quicker. Only 3 tools needed:
