RS3 8V Orders List

Not running her in! Always worth being a little gentle for a couple of miles. ;-)

Maybe your right. who knows. but i was told by one of the techs. each engine is bench tested and pretty much nailed anyway before its fitted to the car then the car is rolling road tested and nailed again. he also said the days of running cars in are long gone so who knows. I'm sure many of you will run yours in and a few years ago i would of done the same. each to there own i suppose. but when the dealer and master techs tell me theres no need then that pretty much gave me the all clear to hit the loud pedal lol

My dealer is 250 miles away so the drive back should be sufficient running in wise. However, always best to wait till car is fully warmed up

and to add to this I'm pretty sure the 20 odd miles that where on the clock when i picked it up where definitely not spent by the technician pottering around at below 3000rpm

got quite a few pics for you all anyway. (well, the nardo lovers anyway lol) enjoy!

It does say in the manual to be gentle for first 600-1000 miles.

thankx for pics m8, looks fantastic...

..should I have stuck with Nardo... hmmmm :p

Anyone hedging their orders with the recent developments with the VW revelations? Lots of wild speculation (Devaluation, massive company losses) our there and wondered what your thoughts are regarding stalling your order or asking for more of a discount (if you haven't already?)

Interesting point kkp. I don't think the Diesel scandal will do any long term damage. Look at the way media types spin things politically for example for short term news.

I think it's too early to say until the full extent of what's gone on, the total amount in fines/compensation is revealed, 18 billion is a lot of money for any company to lose and how much has been wiped off their stock market value already? I think it's inevitable that job losses will occur tbh.

The boss has already resigned!

What's the point in posting that screen shot can't see nothing?
Well I didn't know you couldn't see it when I posted - or I wouldn't have posted it! Thanks for your helpful comment!

I'm hedging and forfeiting my deposit on a new VW I have ordered for the wife. It might be a decision I eventually regret considering the discount is already 20% but I will wait and see. It's all about speculation

Why? I would wait and see.

Pardon? Have you seen or have any shares in BP? It has never recovered to pre disaster highs, nor have their dividends recovered... That has not stopped me purchasing on speculation on shorting the stock and buying at a relatively low price so I don't agree with your statement. What happens to VW is yet to be seen, potential break-up, certain devaluation cannot be discounted

Delivery is weeks away and currently being built

Either dealer will call back offering a larger discount or I will walk away until another time when discounts are potentially more favourable. VW group will be in damage limitation mode at some point in the near future.

How will they attract customers to buy into the brand having lost trust of their customers.

When speaking to my dealer, they were doing all of the talking and repeatedly mentioned how I was concerned about 'resale value' , 'residual value'.... Clearly it is a concern of there's!

Still no pics from the dealer yet tho........... :blownose:

Just a reminder, keep on thread please:

I started this thread to capture all of those who have actually placed a confirmed factory order for a RS3 8V so that we can see each others progress, build week allocation, dealer selection and delivery dates etc.

Please let's keep it this way. Thanks
