Urgent Help Please - P0299

Hi everyone, I'm current broken down and have a recovery company coming to pick me up but still need some urgent help to see if the problem is what I think it is. My car had a recon turbo put on it last week after developing the police siren noise and just driving on the motorway 150 miles from home it went in to limp mode and after scanning it with a bluetooth obd scanner I'm getting P0299 turbo underboost code. Does this mean I'm in need of a new turbo and the recon unit is faulty? To say I'm fuming is an understatement!

A boost pipe may of popped off?

Possible stuff to look at.

N75 valve.

All pipes to do with this valve for splits.

Play in the turbo actuator.

Possibly, I've just been reading some threads and seen that might be it but hopefully the recovery guy can find something that simple and sort it...

It's a 2008 (57) 2.0 tdi 140 BKD. It's booked in to be looked at today by the people who fitted the replacement turbo and if they can't find the fault it will be going to Audi at the expense of the dealer who sold it to me (he confirmed this on the phone earlier) for them to have a look at.

Couldn't find any split pipes or anything obvious when it was recovered so it's still a mystery. Even more strange though is that the fault seems to have cleared now and the car is driving okay again... Confused.

I wonder if it was actually cleaned internals at all or just removed from a working car & refitted to yours as such without cleaning, I would remove open it up & check inside.

All sorted again, it was the turbo actuator not opening fully which caused underboost and put the car in to limp mode. Thanks for the replies!
