BW 17,18,19,20

Hey jimmy congrats on getting your baby tomorrow. Definitely post some pics. What build week was your car?

Cheers :) Sure I'll get a few when I'm there. Pity it's gonna be raining, but that does mean that I can test the grip with quattro! It was built on 4th May... so build week 18 I believe.

Ahh nice. Mines BW 20 I'm really hoping I get it in 2 weeks!! Enjoy it I'm jealous

Well today is the day :)

Hopefully it's ready for me. Will put some pics up later.

Good luck, hope there is freebies! and make sure you follow your pickup list even with all the excitement going on!

Did you get approximately 0 hours sleep as well? Haha. Enjoy it, looking forward to seeing your pics :)

Haha I did get to sleep but just kept having nightmares about it, crashing it, missing spec. It was horrible.

My chopper has been delayed due to technical issues though so will be late picking it up :(

have a look around the bodywork for any dents, mismatched paint ect. i only found out at the weekend after picking up on thursday night that one of the foglight covers is loose and cant be pushed in. so i will have to get this looked at.

also check your cables i got a blue i-phone collar and green lightning one. as the right cables are needed to charge your phone ect and link up to media (still cant get album pictures to come up using this). despite this though, i found out its easier to use bluetooth to stream music (no album work) and link the phone up via this as the storage area is squished for the phone plus the cable and it just ends up disconecting.

Have a look at your black gloss trim also and make sure its not all scratched to france. As i noticed in a brighter light that the b pillers were nicely scratched with the dealers poor washing technique. Hope you dont get bumped from the chopper and enjoy your day.

Cheers mate, I will make sure and give it a good check before leaving

Sooo 17:00GMT tomorrow, no wait today, I pick up my S3 saloon in black.... about to attempt some sleep (doubtful). Work all day... interviewing candidates, so should pass the time quickly.

Let me know if anyone wants pics :)

Enjoy your new car and, yes, plenty of pictures and don't forget to put your new car in the a3/s3 saloon register...

Other things are the wheels! Transporting seems to be a problem and they scratch them all the time.... Had this twice now.

My G/F's A1 had a small dent on the bottom of the passengers door under the "buldge" that the profile of the door. We didn't notice after looking around the car very closely until we sat down at the salesman's desk and the light caught it when I looked back! I am having nightmare's already myself about picking mine up hopefully this coming weekend (fingers crossed).

Just got an email from the dealer, mine is ready for me to pick her up on monday (original build week 20, built week 19). As if the weeks weren't long already.. :)

I am picking up mine on Friday:rock:, got the reg number, and already insured

I see on your sig that you have "extras" listed did they offer them to you or did you ask? As GAP is usually my cheeky ask on collection but 1 year service would be nice.

Hi Chimp,

I asked for the extras and paid for them, gap and one free service was really free, there is no PCP and no part exchange.

Just had an email from my useless dealer after I chased them again today... car has been in country since last Thursday and apparently they wont transport it to dealer until next week!!!! WTF they are useless.. I really wish I had ordered elsewhere.

Fed up having to chase for updates from Audi UK as dealer doesm't, being told March/April allocation was available and once the order was placed it went to week 20, now week 20 has passed Audi have built it, sent it on a train and then on a boat to UK in the same amount of time it's been sat in the UK!....

Fed up that they offered so poor trade in so I sold privately in time for delivery, now have no car....

Fed up that I was told that the service pack was available when I ordered and then now its been pulled I cannot have it and the money to cover this would be from the "promised trade in value being held until delivery". So I am down on the deal also.

Not a happy bunny...

(sorry rant over)

Name and shame chimp - who is the useless dealer?
May help someone else avoid this poor service in future

Well picked her up at half 3 today. When I got there he said I couldn't pick it up for a few days as it wasn't ready and needs a clean. I told him I'm happy to take it now so he pushed it through.

I'm more than happy, definitely worth the wait, can't stop smiling every time the exhaust burps

Had to resist making a comment with this quote above. So many jokes to be had if you didn't know he was talking about his new S3 and noting the young lady in the picture....

Sorry if I upset anybody but I have to say how my day went today. Took the S3 Sportback out and came back a little under whelmed if I'm honest. Car didn't feel particularly quick,no quicker than my current 3.0 tdi black edition! Handling was my biggest disappointment, way too bouncy and unsettled when pushing hard and the steering didn't help. I've driven plenty of fast 4 wheel drive cars and this was probably the most disappointing.
Then we got to the finance, which I agreed to,mainly to brighten up my day and give me a laugh, didn't fail on this count. Financing 31k over 48months, £510 ! I'd asked them to give me a trade in price for my A4 which in the cap book trade value is just short of 25k. Dealer offer 22.5k!! They discounted the car by 2k but then offered 2.5k under book for my trade in,they must think people are stupid.

I can't decide whether or not to try a different dealer, but if I'm honest I'm just about sick of Audi dealers.

I agree on the not feeling fast thing, I think the smoothness and linear power delivery takes a lot of the rawness out of it, and you just don't feel that this car is accelerating, or is fast. Until you look at the speedo. Or have a VBox. Only then do you realise that it is fast, just without the drama.

Also agree on the suspension setup, it could be better, it is a little unsettled and bouncy when pushed. But this can be cured with different damper settings.

It's never going to compare with a Megane RS on the driver involvement stakes, but then again you can drive the S3 on a long journey without getting a headache at the end of it.

Out of the box, it isn't a race car.

Re: finance...... you did ignore the advice of this forum to get quotes from Drive the Deal and Orange Wheels first......

You get to hit them where it (financially) hurts - in the post sale Survey.
The phrase you are looking for is "Extremely Dis-satisfied"

I did get quotes for the finance from drive the deal and when I hinted that the finance was way off to the salesman he pretty much ignored me and said that's the best they can do! I even questioned the px price he had offered me to which he replied " we've discounted the car". Classic that one.
Sorry to say it but I'm planning on taking a M135i out tomorrow as it's supposed to be more of a "drivers" car which is probably what I'm after as my weekend play thing.

Soooo picked it up at 5pm (well 5:30 when he'd finished with another customer). Car is absolutely amazing. I've moved from a Mk 2.5 Ford Focus ST and the difference is very noticeable! Love the ACC, best bit I've found so far. It's been raining heavily down south today and the quattro had no problem when I floored it up a steep hill. Anyway... pics:

Just heard from Audi CS, my S3 SB is in Emden awaiting shipment, coming into Grimsby.

Any rough ideas as to how long it will be before I get my greasy mits on it?

Jon

I think Grimsby seems to be the quickest, a few peoples have been at the dealers two weeks afters build, so if it's at Emden now I would guess 1 to 2 weeks.

Its good to here mixed reviews about what people have experienced with there cars and no scary supprises on collection days. Think this is the 1st time i have seen the black inlays in a picture. Another thing i found interesting the other day was when playing music through bluetooth, depending on the way the media must be recorded it effects the sound level a lot.. Had the car on 1/2 level listening to random songs and then an LMFAO song kicked in and gave me a shock. Glad i ticked the upgrated stereo as would have missed it after having the bose one :music:

That's good to hear, I thought there was something wrong with the speakers earlier.

The guy at the garage only gave me the blue lead for iPhone 4, is there one for the iPhone 5 yet?

Went and bought some autosol today, the inner exhausts are already turning black. Looks like they will be needing cleaned a lot.

Still smiling though :)

Tried out the ACC today. With a squint face and my foot hovering over the brake it certainly was quite scary for the first time, love it though.

Glad you are enjoying it. Told you it was an epic car didn't I ?

Yes there is a 5 / lightning connector now available.

Have not had this issue with the pipes yet. But have only done 120 miles in two weeks !

Good luck with it - you will love it. Make sure you get some pics uploaded. :photo:

The collar colour is green for the five. You have to make sure the volumes is turned up on the phone also to get a better output and louder sound. In regards to collars. Tried the blue one on my iPod and it says not supported. Have tried the lightning one on my I-phone twice now and ended up pulling it off. As keeps loosing connection. Despite making sure the cable is pushed into the ami feed and phone on both occasions. Both pretty crap really when you think of the amount you spend on the motor.

I think the ACC is the best bit of the car! It's just so easy and reliable. The thing is, I think I trust it too much... gotta be careful.
