Tool to remove Airbag light. Cheap eBay one?

Are you just trying to reset a fault code, or are you trying to disable an airbag or hide a problem with the system?

Just reset fault code. Only comes up if seats have been moved

There are some hand held scan tools that reset air bags, as in the link above. However I have seen a cheap one of these cause the air bags to fire on a vw bora while trying to reset the codes.

Best to reset it with VCDS or a Snapon Solas etc. If you haven't got a laptop many independent garages will do it for very little.

Garage near work can so it. Had it reset three times by them now. If I put seats forward to let someone in back with ignition on it tends to come on (Airbag light). Was just thinking cheap tool would be easier than pestering garage every five minutes.

Only had 6 months. Mg motors in ripley got full vcds by the way

Has to be a loose connection,are the connectors in the metal frames ?

Call me daft but clearly your car has a fault with its airbag system, and given its a pretty important safety issue would it not be better top sort the root cause of the problem rather than just resetting the light, if the worst does happen and you have a prang then to my mind I'd be wanting a 100% serviceable system with no faults that might prevent the airbags going off.

the wires need sorting under seat
its either unplug clean and refit.
or
cut plugs off and rewire then you wont have the light on again.

if you just want to reset the ECU disconnect the battery for a half hour or so...
