Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a 'how to' or thread with pictures of how folk do these.

Got the surrounds and mesh and what not, just curious to see how folk mount the mesh to the surround and where / how / what they use to secure it before I got butchering my sheets of mesh.

Have made a rough template from paper of the shape, but get the feeling it's gonna be quite hard to get the mesh to be a good fit whilst still being neat?

Any advice or links or pics appreciated!

Haven't done this myself (don't even own a b7 haha have allot of b7 parts in the garage though) but surely it's just a case of removing, cutting mesh to fit and glueing (or if your me plastic welding and glueing just to be extra careful and feel like you've gone one better than everyone else haha).

There's many mesh sources on eBay if you search "honeycomb mesh" should be followed up with "-ALUMINIUM" to ensure no silly looking things come up, here's something similar to what I got last time (been a while though so can't actually remember which mesh was bought) UNIVERSAL BLACK ABS 20cm x 90cm HONEYCOMB GRILLE GRILL MESH VENT RR VOGUE Gitter | eBay.

Nah it's not so much that mate, already got good mesh here to use so that's not a problem.

Just from looking at the shapes involved and the lack of lip / area around the mesh to actually fix it to, I was just curious as to how other folk have gone about it.

It'll probably start to make more sense as I actually try it.

Here you go

hope this gives you the idea, I used a high strength super glue

Cheers matey - think the problem I have is that my mesh looks a bit thicker than yours in those pics which might make it a bit trickier to seal.

Will just have to give it a bash and see how it goes :)

I wanted to do this mod but my intercooler pipes are in the way. Suppose you can't have it all lol! Nice work mate! :)

Cheers Jeff, still gotta work out how I'm gonna do it to the B8

Nightmare with the angle of your intercoolers Craig

Yeah exactly mate, only option is to cut out the front panel, but it's not really an option to be honest. The b8 will look good!

Made a start on mine yesterday. Think I'm going to reuse the ones with the bar in tact rather than the bar-less ones I have... Will get there eventually!
