Hi all, I'm in the process of moving from 18" 8j wheels with 215/35/18 tyres and tbh it's pretty horrible in the corners unless I'm just pushing the car to hard.

now looking at some 19" 8.5j front and 9.5j rears. I don't want a tonne of stretch though. What sizes would you recommend?

235/40/18 is the norm for 18's and 19's usually have 235/35/19

I run 8.5/9.5 staggered 19's and go with a 215/35 and 225/35 respectively.

Not a great deal of stretch on the fronts, but a bit on the back. Guess it really depends on what you wanna do ride height wise.

Tyrestretch.com - Because Size Matters! is a good place to look for an idea of how specific tyre sizes will look on specific wheel widths....

And could you do a track day without poping a tyre off the rim on a setup like that?

I'm no more than 2 inches to my gearbox frame off the floor atm on 18's

If I was gonna be doing a track day, its not a setup i'd go with no - but then again, if i was doing a track day, I'd not be running 19's at all either......

It'll depend on offsets and such like, but if you're running so low you're 2 inches off the ground and want to run a 9.5' wide 19........ I'd imagine you'll defo need some kinda stretch to make it work.
