S3 drivers age group

Initially, I was genuinely shocked at the average age. I'm 41.

But when I think about it, by the time that I was 26, I had owned an a second hand Astra GSi 16v, an ex-demo Bravo HGT 20v and bought a brand New Fiat Coupe Turbo 20v - so, maybe I shouldn't be too shocked.

Wow, very surprised at how many are in their 20s and driving an S3.

My online quote with GIO for car insurance will not cover it for anyone under 25 years of age.

By the way, I'm 42, must be a mid life crisis car purchase.

You guys in your 20's must be single right? My missus would never approve an S3, I'm struggling to get missus approval for a TDI quattro haha

My Mrs has had sportier cars than me. Chose a good un!

Or just overwhelm her with technical jargon, so she just gives up and accepts your choice. Thats what I did..."the S3 is actually more efficient that my scirocco and it has 4 doors so is more practical, its all about the kids really..." etc. True after all :)

Mine hates driving, she wants one of those smart fortwo things because she can't park for toffee. That's how I sold her on an A3 as it has the magic park assist and tons of sensors :) Now my mission is to persuade her from a 1.4 TFSI to the 2.0 TDI quattro, I think we may end up with the e-tron as a compromise but I'd much prefer a quattro Audi than FWD.

I looked at the Scirocco actually, I really like the look of it externally but spec wise / interior it looks inferior to the Golf / A3.

We currently have a Pugeot 107 so there is hardly anything more economical (by a lot) really, which sucks as I've kept this thing for like 7 years since I graduated and got it as my first car.

to the young S3 owners - are you buying these cars outright or on finance?

Sorry don't understand the question or relevance. In my 20s I had 7 cars and due to many personal factors used different methods of payment . Isn't everyone like that whatever age they are or have I misunderstood the purpose of the question.
Whatever I expect the answer is 42

Well I'm 61 and I drive an R8. A3 1.4COD saloon on order as daily drive.

I would've had an S3 in my early/mid 20's but could never consider anything but a diesel due to 30-40k miles per year. Would have loved one though. I do a lot less miles now and would consider one in a few years time when my current deals up.

Funny about confusing the missus, I told her the DTUK tuning box was bought for fuel economy reasons, nothing to do with 40-50bhp extra!

32 now btw.

No issue getting sign off from the Mrs. In fact she is excited about S3 coming as much as I am. I will admit I tried originally getting her to decide between S3 and A45 AMG. At £600 a month on finance for the Merc the Mrs was the voice of reason and noted that apart from the speed and noise it was an awful car and I would hate it after the initial fun factor had worn off.

That's pretty sad; as in I'm genuinely upset to hear that a grown man can have his balls clipped so badly.

Good old mix of bankers bonus and finance for me.

Just turned 24 here, get mine in May hopefully.

Finance with a decent deposit. I'll never keep a car long enough to worry about owning outright.

Yeah I'd agree with that. I love the scirocco, its a lovely looking car but the interior is not up to Audi standards. Its very well fitted and its lasted very well, but just not as special as the Audis. I'd have it over a boring golf any day though!
