Ok the car is in the UK now and awaiting transport to the dealership. Provisional date of the 25th for myself to collect it. Tomorrow they are swopping the loan Q3 for something else...

how come you got a loan?

Looks like mine was on the same boat. Just got an update from the lease company and they will be receiving the car on the 22nd. Just need to arrange delivery to me, hopefully the 23rd or 24th. Yay.

This time I have a A4 Avant to cruise about in, but what is it about these Audi's and their steering characteristics? This one is worse than the Q3, no feedback at all and so very vague in the dead centre position, its like driving a barge. Glad I didn't get one...

Well today is the day, arranged collection at 11:00 so its a short drive over there to take back the A4. All the paperwork has been completed by e-mail so there shouldn't be much to do. I hope the weather brightens up because it is a grey, dank, mizzley and wet morning...

Honest truth...since you've driven the Q3 and the A4 Avant in the last few weeks, is the steering characteristics on the A3 also dull?

Far from it and the handling/ride is nicely dynamic, the best Audi I have driven. The sport suspension is fine for me and, after coming from my Focus with 18" wheels, doesn't seem harsh or crashy at all. I am very impressed with the whole car.

Grats on the new ride Cuke. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am. How could you not:)

Finally signed the order today for my A3 Sport 1.4 Stronic saloon, with the following spec:-

Monsoon Grey; Alcantara/leather; heated seats; Audi sound system; parking system plus; folding door mirrors; hold assist; TPMS; Xenon lights; Comfort pack; storage package; ns pack; deselect sports suspension

Now waiting to hear the build date, but dealer has estimated 12-16 weeks..........can't wait! :sex:

Many thanks to all those who've replied to my previous threads, which have certainly helped me to finalise my spec.

Congratulations on your order, Allan and nice spec.

Delivery times must be improving as I had to wait a full 5 months for mine but it is definitely worth the wait!

Ordered mine end of October with a week 5, this week, build. Dealer tells me today that the car is built and at the docks in Germany where it will sit for up to 14 days before shipping.
Spec: glacier white 1.4COD S-Tronic Sport, Xenon, Comfort Pack, Sunroof, heated Seats, Milano leather in Titanium grey, reversing front and rear, Technology Pack, delete sports suspension, folding mirrors, 17" five spoke alloys, tyre pressure, hill hold and through load. I wanted a car as comfortable and quiet as possible hence the spec.
Should be ready for 1st march.

The A3 saloon is neat, understated and will look the part for years.:arco:

I think the dimensions of this car are gorgeous (in the same way that I loved the Audi A4 B5 model). The VW Jetta has always looked somehow too 'booty' whereas the short boot on this (especially in the grey) just looks fantastic.

If it was my money going into an A/S/RS3 today I'd be buying the saloon. Nice one.

Let's make that 5! Had 1.8tfsi since November, could be the only 1.8? Was going to get an SB but decided the saloon
was a much better looking car, especially in glacier white.
