Looks like its timing and aux belt off, crank cam belt pulley off and replace the sodding oil flange seal. What really makes me ****** is this is a brand new flange with oil seal direct from Audi😡The parts takes minutes to change but it's the crap that's in the way that's time consuming. Unless some one knows more than me and this seal needs bedding in?Only on for 47 miles so might just monitor it for now. It's not ******* out, only weeping...for now lolThis is where the oil must be getting splatted up by the crank cam belt pulley and landing on the coolant pump.

That's a ******! Think it's easy to catch the lip when installing

The clutch side one was impossible to fit when on the engine stand during the rebuild but the cam side one was easy to install which is why I don't understand why it's leaking?? I know I didn't catch any thing during fitting as I would of seen it

It doesn't take much to damage the seal unfortunately. I normally apply a good smear of grease to the contact surface of the seal and a smear on the shaft. Helps it slide on and not get hung up on any sharp edges etc. Edit: Any scores or scratches/damage on the nose of the crank?

Crank face was immaculate but the only thing that could damage the seal is the key way for the ****** crank cam belt pulley. I applied a liberal amount of oil to both surfaces before sliding it passed

I've a sneaking suspicion that the oil seal can weep until it seats itself as there's a channel made into the cast of the flange. Right at the bottom of the crank cam belt pulley guard to maybe allow oil to drain out when it does weep. But that may be wishful thinking lol. Will monitor for 500 miles and see as it's only done 47 miles on the new seal.

It was a whole new flange kit it got from Audi. I'll just take it back for a replacement as parts carry a 2 year warranty

they will want to see the car and remove the seal/flange themselves, if the it turns out to be faulty they change it, if not you pay labour and new part cost. The warranty sux

I get my parts from TPS and have a good reputation there so won't have a problem replacing the part :)
