fault code help please on A4 sline turbo cabriolet

hi

I have had my engine managemnt light on on my audi a4 cabriolet sline 2006 1.8 turbo . did a diagnostic on my car and the follwing fault codes have come up.

17956 control valve boost pressure open circuit

17769 cyl 3 ignition circuit open circuit

16574 O2 sensor bank / sensor

17700 map controlled engine coding thermostat

Can anyone please let me know if any of these fault codes are serious to fix mechanicaly and expensive job . the mechanic said the turbo is not kicking in due to one of the issues . He said that one fault code would of triggered all the others but not sure .

does anyone know if i have a serious or expensive repair here please and if the parts to buy are any expensive . just thinking of the labour costs too different garages are quting me different prices to fix .

hi tried that but just need to know the part numbers please. rang audi up and they said they dont give part numbers out . very strange how am i know what im ordering .

Im a bit lost what do you need the part numbers for?
To have 4 things fail all at once has got to be very unusual.
What did the mach say he thought was the original error, and what did the other garages say?

It is very hard to help with little to no description as to what the vehicle is doing or how it is behaving. So based on the codes. Im just going to give the general thought.

17956 control valve boost pressure open circuit - n75 valve pretty straight forward to fit bit tight if you have big hands. Part number: 06F906283F. Has 2 hoses connected to it and one sensor which just clips off. And is mounted generally with 2 screws/bolts.

17769 cyl 3 ignition circuit open circuit - Coil pack will need replacing as these are common to go. Again straight forward fix remove the wire attached to the coil remove the old coil slot in the new one place clip back on job done. Part Number 07K905715F

3rd thing i woudlnt know to much about. I woudl say its either an issue with the fuel tank pumps or is the sensor that sits on the fuel rail which is a fuel pressure sensor - part number 06H906051A thou dont quote me on this being the issue.

17700 map controlled engine coding thermostat- This can either be a thermostat or a sensor issue. Now as I dont know what your tempreture guage is doing i cant assist.

Thanks so far for the response . My local garage did a diagnostic SNAP ON computor test . The garage said that I need to take the car to VW or Audi specialist and get a VAG 5051 or above premium test to read the faults as there machine might not be powerful enough . He said that the machine he has does not pick all symptoms . So im taking car to a audi diagnostic VAG test this thursday so they can hook my ECU up.

The car when stationary, like in traffic lights tends to judder like its going to cut out until you start moving again. In third or higher gear it slowly picks up more power . There is no misfire at all but when going up a slight hill on 2nd gear there is a delay in power until you get top of the hill. i think its trying to work the engine up. once it flat surface it picks up engine speed again . The engine is more sluggish when slow driving and stationary . The turbo is not kicking in and there is no power as should be on a 1.8 turbo . The mechanic who drove the car said like thev turbo is not coming on . Im jut wondering if there is some sensor issue which not causing the turbo not to kick in . There temp gauge reads normal.

Hi the same test results came as above when the Vag.Com garage did vag test . The O2 sensor fault 16514 read bank 1 sensor 1 malfunction static .and the n75 one if the two wires were broken . It also read 17700 p1292 map controlled engine cooling thermostat F265 open circuit intermittent .
The garage said I must replace all coils as the could inside car was cheap non Audi ones and all other parts were not great.
Can someone give me audi part numbers for these . Wondering if the part numbers mentioned above are audi parts . The temp gauge is in middle and fine . No fuel smell. Some oil is leaking on to the CAT which might be. Coils.

I really need the audi part numbers for O2 sensor, ignition coils , n75 and map controlled engine thermostat please

i think you need a decent garage to go to the coils cant cause an oil leak
if your buying parts from audi call up give reg they will supply the correct parts

All the part numbers above are Audi Genuine Part numbers I wouldn't supply anything less.

But there is one slight issue I was under the impression you had the 2.0t but I read reread the post and seems you have the 1.8T so the part numbers will differ slightly.

As suggested above speak to your local audi dealer with your reg or vin number. They will assist you with the correct part numbers and pricing.

Were about are you based?

And bez is correct in saying the coils wont cause a oil leak.

So just a update I have done a bit of your homework for you.

The coil pack part number is the following: 06B 905 115 (now there will be a letter after the 115 but that will be based on which ever the latest revision is so for example 06B 905 115 B might have been replaced by 06B 905 115 G. Audi will know the latest revision part number.

As for the o2/lambda sensor it depends which one it is. As I don't know what your engine code is I cant help with this one.
It could be the likes of (06C 906 265 or 06B 906 265D)

Dont be alarmed by the price of the o2 sensor they are not cheap. But what I can advise is once you have the price from Audi shop around because Audi use Bosch /o2/lambda sensors. So you could find it a lot cheaper else were for the same part with no Audi logo on it.

N75 for 1.8T - 06A 906 283E

lastly that part you after with regards to the thermostat seems to be located with in the thermostat housing.

So as previously suggested locate the thermostat, see if all wiring is connected correctly. Also check fuses. lastly if no result its a new thermostat unit basically. Also keep a eye on your coolant tank and see if you are loosing any fluid. As this may be a cause of a cracked or leaking thermostat which will also throw the above fault.

The mechanic also said I needed a new cam seal cover as it's spilling minor bit if oil

replaced MAF , front O2 sensor , thermostat , coils changed .erased codes and no luck Still , O2 sensor coming as fault again sensor 1 bank 1 and. Only this code is coming as fault at engine retest . The engine code comes on when the engine gets warmed up for some reason . I really don't know if I should now Change sensor 2 which post cat one . It's definitely coming as 02 fault when car warns up. There is a bit of slight misfire as well . I'm completely losing my mind now and don't know what to do next . Any ideas
