Tyre safety advice wanted..Is this safe?

Right Boys and Girls....just spotted this on my offide front tyre....it's very badly F&cked!! Question is, is this safe to drive for a few days or should it be changed immediately? Just about to change to Winter tyres anyway but it's still very mild here.....It's on about 20% of the surface of the rim....with another tear about 6 inches on the other side.

Can someone give me some advice please..never seen anything like this on my boots.

That doesn't look good at all! Personally I wouldn't drive unless I had no choice and even then wouldn't go above 50mph. How long have you been driving around with that?

Change it Yesterday, Before u have a Blowout and Wreck ur Alloy, And if u still Have Bill of Sale take the Tyre back for Investigation in to How it Happened, There could be a Batch of Bad Tyres, And U may get a New Replacement .....

If it was my tyre, I wouldn't use it in it's current state.

Cheers Guys....thanks for the feedback....that's what I was thinking....I have a 10km trip to my garage...and I will drive like Miss Daisey later this afternoon. The tyres are a few years old....pretty sure it was ok up to 2 weeks ago when I last washed the Bus....

As advised above- I wouldn't be driving on that.

Chucking the spare on and driving to the garage on that would be a safer option

Can't use the standard jacks on that shaggin' ABT side skirt...hence heading towards the garage.

Could you not drive the vehicles wheels onto a bit of wood to raise it slightly higher than the ground.... then you should be able to get the jack under the side skirt and below the jacking point to be able to raise the vehicle?

Everybody calm doon! Job done, I was needing to change to my studded winter tyres anyway... eventually. I reckon the company who re sprayed my wheels during the Summer, f#cked up putting the low profiles back on the rims after they painted them....never seen anything like that before...and unless the tyre is at 12 oclock you can't see the damage...Jaysus and I have been hoofing it recently on the Danish motorways....that could have been very dangerous indeed!...Anyway the 16" alloys with Goodyear studded-soft compounds are on...all safe and sound!

No Matt...it's 2.0T FWD with Prosport chassis ( UK S Line maybe? )....Did we not have this thread before as you were looking for 16" wheels to fit....I have 312mm discs btw. As you can see in the pic....not much space between the disc and the wheel but they fit just without any trouble at all.

Me too....I reckon the company who sprayed my wheels recently, f&cked up when they replaced my tyres on the wheels....Not happy at all with this and also the paint work on the wheels seems shoddy too....and I won't embarrass myself by telling you lot how much I paid for this **** up!....plainly, there will be some chosen English words used when I see them shortly!
