Advice on storing car for winter

As above Im lucky enough that I had a diesel for work so can take my s3 off the road at winter last year I invested in a proper cover cost me a fair bit but its made to measure, breathable etc so my plan is to get axle stands and a c-tek trickle charger, and take car off the ground enough to take weight from tyres not removing them as the cover should keep them safe enough, my drive is basically In front of my kitchen window so will have power supply for charger and ill just switch it on every couple weeks or leave it on? Just basically wanting to know if this should be enough? Do I fill the petrol tank with v power or have it emptyish? Car will only be off till weather cleares so 2/3 month hopefully haha
Car will be sealed and waxed aswell along with sealing wheels and ill put some tyre gel on aswell thanks

Can void off doing any of that, and just take it out once a week

Petrol goes off after a few weeks... Do not let the tank run dry by natural evaporation.
Small solar panel charger will prob suffice to trickle the battery.

As mentioned above, a good drive (hour or so above 50mph for several mins) every week would not harm the car.
This avoid parts seizing up..

Hi thanks for replys I don't want to take it out once the snow comes to keep it away from the salt and that on the roads plus was hoping to park it up and kinda just forget about her for the winter as I may end up working loads if the snow is bad enough and not keen on driving in the snow anyways as not just myself but I see alot of cars getting alot of damage over winter and my brothers mate nearly got his written off last year

Isn't that when the fun starts with the S3? when the snow comes ? I see where your coming from with the salt ETC! but half the reason i brought an S3 was for the bad weather!

just leave it parked up no need to lift off the ground
as with my bikes i fill the tank but thats cos there metal to stop rusting

Leave the handbrake off if you can, to stop the mechanism seizing on.

S3 seems a curious choice for a fair weather hobby car?

Flat spots usually disappear after you've topped up the pressures and given it a good shake down! The crush at the base of the sidewalls can cause deterioration over time, but I doubt that would happen over only a couple of months storage... better safe than sorry though.

If i had a quattro or an s3 i would not be parking up in snow but as mine FWD im going to buy a subaru for the winter to have fun in responsibly of course

I dont understand whats going on here..?? haha... each to their own I guess... but winter in my opinion is what sets the S3 apart from the majority... always good to fly by a beamer driving round in circles!

yeh its not a lambo or a ferrari ya talking about, get the s3 out now and again, all it needs to protect from salt and that is a few good layers of wax! and regular clean after ya have a blast

Totally agree with all the comments of the S3 being the idle car in the snow! Amazing beast in the snow and shoe it with some winter tyres it's pretty much unstoppable. Just remember to get the road salt blasted off and get a good few coats of sealant on now and it should last till the spring. I don't think any car really likes to just sit around for months anyway.

Yeah you guys are prob right if the snow is bad though I prob won't get it out At all it just sat last year while I was at work so if its gonna sit I would rather it was covered, I move the salt with my jcb and i see the effects it has on them so can't be all that good but each to there own opinion i suppose ill be the first to admit i have a bit OCD with my car I just can't help it haha you never know the weather might not be bad this year anyways
