I must admit the comparison sites are a pain. Put my details in, and yep fine, gives quotes. I go direct to one of the top listed insurance sites directly to check the quote and it quotes me £80 more despite being exactly the same details... WAJ...

How did you go to insurance sites exactly?

Did you open a new tab and enter the address manually and re-enter your details or use the "link" on the price comparison site to get the quote? Usually they have a quote and you can try calling them up to pull up those details to discuss.

yes. I used a completely separate page. I also used the same details on a different comparison site and got a slightly cheaper price.. weird..

I normally use comparison sites to get the best price, then ring my current insurance company and get them to match if they have been good to deal with so far, and they normally match the best price, and saves messing around as they already have you set up on there system. which means I only have to change every few years not every year normally to get best price, insurance companies ALWAYS seam to charge more on the second year and onwards, unless you do this in my experience. It's a shame existing customers don't get best prices, but I suppose it doesn't pay to be lazy and not shop around.
