Hi All,

I have some light kerb Scratching on my A4 Black Edition Rotor Alloys. Its just the dges and the centres are untouched. I'm not sure if the edges are described as diamond cut? Or if there is a way to get them fixed without getting the whole alloy refurbed?

Many Thanks in advance!

I think the edges are diamond cut, and i am sure you can get them done without the whole wheel being done if the tyre is taken off and the rest of the wheel is protected with something. Pop in to a decent body shop and ask or give somebody a ring.

There's Totaltrax in Lossie, they did a terrific job of my Astra wheels, highly recommend.

I did get a quote from him but he wasn't sure if a) he would need to refurb the whole wheel (it doesnt need it!) or b) if he would be able to do it as the edge of the Black Edition alloys are diamond cut? (I'm not sure what its classed as)

The only other places round about Elgin, that i know of are The wheel specialist, they've places in Inverness and Aberdeen.

There's a couple of bodyshops that refurb wheels but don't know if they would be able to get a right finish on them.

I was looking at getting them done before I get back to the UK but don't wanna send my missus incase they try and rip her off!

That price is about the going rate to be honest.

If mine get any worse I am spraying the outside edges silver and lawyering the lot of em. Diamond cut wheels are just not serviceable for me.

Anybody?

Also does anybody know the paint code for the grey paint on the alloys or know where I can get some touch up? This is the wheel:

Jesus, I have pretty bad curbs on all of my black edition alloys and I thought that would cost £40 a wheel to have done (not had a wheel refurbed before but I have seen £30-40 a wheel figures banded about).

Is there a reason why they cost so much?

I keep getting the excuse that it's because the edges are diamond cut whuch is absolute b*ll**** as it's just the edges getting done and for that alone they are charging DOUBLE what it cost's to fully refurbish TWO alloys.

My alloys look different from yours, I will look into it and see what model they are and then look for refurb firms. Sounds like I will be without a car for a little while too!

I got my 4 Wheels Diamond Cut At Kinghorn Auto Bodies in Blackburn/Aberdeenshire ,(Audi Aberdeen Authorised Company)(Prior to Picking my car up after buying it) Great job by them and they look like new, It took 2weeks and they Keep ur Car on there secure Premises on Axel stands.... The Wheels had Oxidisation Bubbles and some Kerbing from Previous Owner
