New two piece discs but using old disc hat

I've manged to find some 322x32 discs that are two piece from a porsche 993 and is a lot cheaper than buying from qst who did the brake conversion.

i was wondering is there anything to look out for wear and tear wise on my old hats ? Also will I need some heat resistant loctite for the bolts on the discs ?

They tend to corrode a little is all... you need to make sure the mating faces are cleaned and flat else it will introduce wobble/judder on the brakes and also pad knock off which is evident by having a longer initial pedal travel when braking..

Use new bolts/nuts, no loctite as its pointless due to temps these things get too

A good going over with a wire brush and wire wool I was thinking to tidy things up should be enough ? With the bolts I was going to re use the bolts of the new discs or is this a no no and just get new bolts ?

Personally I would change the bolts... you can't use just any bolts of course... I know the ones Bill uses (and I have on my 2-piece discs) are from AP Racing and are around 15 quid a side... considering how important brakes are I wouldn't be tempted to reuse especially if the history is unknown...

As for cleaning the bells... the important thing is that they sit flat on the disc as any non flat area will be exaggerated at the outside of the rotor and it will judder like a mofo... it will also be felt up through the steering wheel as wobble in extreme cases... also... do NOT paint any of the mating surfaces... the paint will soften from the heat of braking and the wheel bolts will come loose... that would be bad...

This includes paint on the face the wheel/spacers will sit on too
