The saga continues......

Well guys, as some of my previous threads are related to the random indicator flashing, I thought I would give you all a quick update in case any of you are having anything similar. Have so far replaced the hazard light switch, the control module (under the front passenger footwell), had it on the diagnostics in 3 different garages, whilst it was waiting to go to the stealers, and no one, yes no one can find the fault!! Finally went into Teesside Audi on Thursday gone, they had been made fully aware of the saga, despite this they ring me on Friday with "we can't find what's wrong with the car sir, we would like authorisation to order a control module, to see if this fixes the problem". At this point the bill is £295! That's £85 for the diagnostic (which doesn't show any faults) and the remainder is labour for 'stripping' the car to try and find the fault!
Best part is, if its not the new module, the one they want authorisation to order although they have been told its been replaced, I still have to pay for it and they will continue to order the next part they think it 'could' be, at my expense!!
Needless to say, the phone went down and I made my way there and spoke to the manager.
To be fair, the manager was absolutely brilliant, have came to a compromise and fingers crossed should have the car back tomorrow fully fixed! Will keep you posted as to how it was finally settled and costs incurred.

but have you had the central electrics modual changd ? thats the part that runs all lights

I haven't Bez, where is that located? Have had a call from them tonight to say they have changed a module beneath the dash (jt519 or something similar), the fault is still occurring but not as often I was told followed by "so we think its this and something else, we will investigate further tomorrow". My response was that it obviously wasn't that or it would have cleared the fault, it can't be partially responsible! *** give me strength. As the deal was with the manager, he would have the part replaced his expert technicians were 95% certain it was, and if the fault persists, he would fit the bill for that part and fitting!

its under the dash so could be the 1 they have changed
post the part number i think the j519 is the fusebox thing all the red wires go to but im probly wrong
the C E M is under the dash to the right below the light switch area has 3/4 big plugs going into it

Really?? That would be great if it turns out to be that. Really would make their expert techs look a bit silly! Could this be the culprit even when the stalk isn't depressed, ie when I unlock/lock the car using fob, they go off continuously, as if the alarm has been triggered but no sound from siren.

UPDATE: the stealers had it for two weeks and I now have it back, all working fine. The cause of my headache........the remote roof module which allows my roof to be operated from the key fob. Seems it had been sending all sorts of random signals to the car causing the hazards to flash! Frustrating, but got there in the end!
thought I would share the results. Thanks again guys and gals for all your help.

Good news its all working fine now. How did they rectify the fault in the end then, disconnect the remote roof module? I have one fitted on my B6 and if I open the door while the roof is opening the radio turns on, im sure that is the remote roof module too. Also, i wouldnt have thought Audi would have touched an aftermarket module.

Sounded like it was trial & error, at my expense! They replaced the Central electrics module under the dash, is connected all the airbags, checked the crash sensor, alarm module & sensors then began to strip the car down when they found out it was none of the above! Took off the door panel, found the module, disconnected it and hey presto fault disappeared! They actually disconnected it and handed it to me when I collected the car!
