Is an uprated DV and Oil Catch can really required?

Hi All,
I am thinking of doing some mods to my car. I should be raising the BHP to around the 350-360 mark over the next year or so. To avoid any complications ect is it worth uprating the DV (I have an S3 on a 59 plate so I think I already have the revised DV) and getting a catch can? I have had my eye on the Revo PVC complete fix or the Forge catch can. I know they are both expensive for what they are but I rather spend the money on a decent product knowing it will work well that is not gong to cause further problems.

Any feedback on the DV or the variety of catch cans out there and how useful they are would be appreciated.

Cheers!

You will need high pressure fuel pump and bigger (RS4) injectors with custom remap induction kit and milltek decat exhaust and forge twintercooler, with all that my mate managed to get 338bhp and car spits flames anymore he needs to upgrade exhaust manifold and turbo, so really you need everything ive listed and more,

the catch can will help alot if your car is highly tuned also DV will sound nice stick to forge products there wicked mate

Yeah I will need that lot in time. I haven't got the cash for all of it now lol. I know a HPFP is needed but I don't think bigger injectors are required until over 400bhp though? Thanks for the advise. Seems from what I have been reading the catch can will help quite a bit. Forge products are good BUT with the matching price tag lol.

Yh not 100% sure on injectors my mate has rs4 injectors in his due to the flames as its over fuelling like a mofo lol but amazing power deliver with the ko4 turbo he says hes ordering bigger turbo but not sure when, sorry forgot to me tupn hes got the seat leon cupra k1 BTCC not an s3 but same engine

like i said forge are good but paying for them makes you feel a bit sick inside lol :-L
i have catch can on my TDI it catches quite a lot of oil tbh

I do know that a lot of people say when upgrading the fuel pump to also change the fuel pressure regulator to the RS4 one as it is a cheap upgrade and does help. Yeah I think I am a little sick to even consider Forge products lol. Not because the quality just the price of their stuff!

frankly the forge DV is a waste of money unless you're going BT the revised DV is plenty for the tiny K04 turbo and you dont need to change your injectors... also a LPFP would be nice like the RS3 one, and yes the RS$ regulator would help... the THS FMIC seems to be what people go for less weight then the crappy twintercooler that forge provide you with even with multiple air entry points still think its useless.. more hoses = more chances of a leak down the track...

important bits would be the DP and getting a 200 cell cat... the LPFP...THS FMIC...uprated clutch LOBA etc... and that should be it mate obviously with a remap

You don't need bigger injectors until you're above 400bhp which isn't possible on the K04.

The newest revision DV is fine and as Sevv says, you wouldn't need more until a big turbo arrives.

The RS4 fuel pressure regulator may be useful.

Keep reading up on these, but seem to be a absoloute nightmare to fit?

Listen to s3alex hes the man when talkig about s3 tuning read his thread its a beastttt

You won't need injectors. To get 350bhp or there abouts you need (from revo for example):

Stage 2+ map
Intake (revo personally)
Turbo back exhaust (I have milltek)
Autotech fuel pump internals (personally)
Audi RS4 Fuel Valve Regulator
Uprated DV or Forge DV

Optional:

FMIC (I have the Revo one)
Catch can or PCV kit

That's it really. Not much to be honest to achieve the extra power but as you have read, the valve can be fiddley to fit but with some patience, it can be removed and fit without having to take off the intake manifold.

Can any instructions how to fit it without removing the intake manifold?

I have use of a four post car ramp if access from underneath is required and I have narrow arms/hands if that helps lol

The RS4 fuel pressure regulator may be useful, but it isn't strictly necessary.

The other parts(exhaust,HPFP and intake) you do need.

The best current intakes seem to be the Revo or AMD.

Doesnt the ITG compete with the Revo/AMD CAIs?

Not that I'm thinking about fitting anything to the car I have owned less than a week

Always listen to ALEX. Hes been down this path and gone for a "drive" a lot further down the path than I want to go lol.. :)

Now on the subject of tuning, has anyone had any experience with "Longlife" exhausts? May be I should start yet another thread.. lol.

There are a few posts suggesting the Revo's flow is better than the ITG by a few percent, and thus if you wanted the very best, that or the even larger AMD should be the ones to go for.

I can't use either at the moment,as neither will fit the custom turbo downpipe on my car,but when AMD can produce one for me,we'll give it a go.

The ITG intake is still a great piece of kit with good gains (had one) but the Revo intake (have one) is better (and so is AMD, I am lead to beleive)

I'd like to try either or both but the price of modifying is being unable to use off the shelf parts sometimes!
