Insurance with modifications.

Hi All,
I am getting ridiculous quotes to add an aftermarket exhaust and a Non standard air filter. My current insurance company wont cover any mods. Neither will they give a reduction in my premium even if I add in an uprated alarm (Thatcham Cat 1)and Pentagon Supaglass which is Thatcham rated "Q." What ever that means lol.

Anyone know any decent insurance companies that aint going to charge the earth and actually give me a discount with the extra security?

Give Adrian flux a shout mate, they insured me when I was 18 and I put a 143bhp lotus Elise engine in a rover 100. I think they will be cool with your mods fella.

sky insurance are all over ASN, why not try them? Surely they'd give u discount for being an ASN member. have a look on the forum front page

I wouldn't trust adding modifications on to your policy through insurance comparison sites to be honest.

Best bet is to call them up and run through the details with them over the phone.

Sky wont quote me. They said something to do with the amount of car thefts in London recently lol? Flux too expensive. Cant really complain at £890 fully comp but add two things and the price rockets. No mods for me this year then...

Have you tried Greenlight insurance?

Also pleasantly surprised by admiral - £30 for remapping the missus' TDI golf and £90 for remapping and Milltekking my M135i

Thanks all for the advise and a special thanks to Paul. I remember Chris Knott from years ago but only remembered them when you made your post. I gave them a call and they were the best quote so now insured to add a non standard air filter and a non standard exhaust if I do it within the next month. Happy Days
