How to drive an auto?

When I'm stuck in traffic for more then 30 secs I normally slip my car into neutral, my thought was to prevent clutch wear as I thought the car maybe fighting against my brakes. Am I right in thinking this? My car has the CVT multitronic box.

Yes mate, if you are parked up for more than 10 secs even, it's always a good idea to select neutral in an auto.
 
I just keep my foot on the brake. when I let off its starts rolling forward anyway.

treat it like a go kart!
