Quick question!

Quick question as I'm proper confused lol.. I have searched but there's no definitive thread or explanation lol..
what version of 8p bumper do I have? And also would the bumper below be a direct fit or we looking at new wings etc aswell?

8p2 car ,if its a 8p2 bumper it will fit ,should have a part number on it ..

You have an 8P2 SLine front bumper. The other bumper that you've attached is off an 8P2 S3. Yes it will fit without replacing bonnets and wings, but you'll need to do a small modification to the impact bar that lays behind the bumper (you need to trim a small section off the bottom corners - this is covered in other threads if you want more details but it's easy enough to do).... You'll also need an S3 grille if that bumper doesn't come with one. The 8P2 A3 grille is slightly bigger than the 8P2 S3 grille, so unfortunately you wont be able to use your current grille

Damn and here was me thinking the grill would swap over lol! So I take it it's the 8p3 bumper that would need the wings and bonnet replaced then?

Yes, as well as headlights, grills and some other bits.

The Black S3 Style FK grill fits the S3 bumper as its shorter but still fits all other 8p2 bumpers like the s3 grill does.

They say it doesn't fit S3 but In actual fact it's shorter than the standard and s line grills, leaves a little gap at bottom of the bumper. My mate bought one to try on his S3 and it fitted.

My car is in the bodyshop at the moment having the 8P2 S3 bumper fitted. I went and bought a genuine black optics S3 grille because I was told on here that my current FK S3 style grille wouldn't fit my new S3 bumper. Damn!



The FK grille left a slightly larger gap between the grille and bonnet on my A3. I wonder if that's because, as you say, the FK grille is slightly smaller than the standard A3 grilles?

You got a picture by any chance of it on the S3 and the "gap" in question?
