Retrofitting dis

I'm just wondering if anyone could help me, I have a 58 plate audi a3 1.4tfsi 2008 without the driver information system.
i would really like to retrofit it but just wondering if it is possible to do to my car and what I would need?

I did this a few months back on my 1.9TDIe. Assuming yours looks something like this:

It's really easy to do, all you need is a new wiper stalk with the DIS control buttons on the end (circa £30) and like 10minutes with VCDS to turn everything on.

If your car does not have a screen at all between the gauges you will have to fit a new cluster. Some cars (DSG equipped, in particular) came with a cluster that has the screen to display the gears, but did not have the trip computer enabled. If that is the case, then JayT is on the money.

My car just has the black screen that shows wether a door is open so I think I would need to get a new cluster, does anyone know how much they are? And the best place to get it from

no mate, that is not the correct part, that is for a golf if I am not mistaken. I have the stalk if interested, for a good price too. PM me if interested, and I will send over my number so you can buzz me.

Will need more than a bit of coding, the cluster will also need to be recalibrated to the mileage. Only Audi or similar can do this and it can amount to a fair bit.
