This is my first post on the forum, although i've been using it for some time. So first of all, hello to all!

I've recently purchased my first ever audi in the shape of a 57 plate A3 2.0T Quattro Special Edition. Im coming from a Candy white mk4 Golf GTI so i'm not new to the VAG scene.

The cars great and it's in pretty good nick, apart from some curbing on the alloys so naturally i'm looking to get them refurbed.

The wheels are the standard RS4 twin-spoke but i fancy a colour change and i'm thinking of going a little darker, either the black edition 'titanium' colour or maybe a shadow chrome finish.

Just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions and/or pics of ideas for this wheel.

By the way the car is misano red! :redrs4:

Thanks in advance, Andy.

Welcome to the forum Andy.

Gun Metal looks good with red car & RS4's imho.

N8 is not far from you & can organise refurb & its quality work aswell, as new when finished.

Hi mate,
I've just had mine done in a gunmetal colour:

This is what they look like against the car

I think they look brilliant and I had them done at a place in Widnes so only down the road! National alloys they're called.

Thanks for the reply NHN.

Yeah thats the kind of colour i'm aiming at, i just don't want to go too dark as i'm not a fan of black wheels tbh.

I was going to to take them to a place called 'national alloys' in widnes as i've heard good things about them. I'm open to other options though if its local!

H17YD L.... Thats the place that i'm going to be using!

Do you mind me asking how much you paid? They look nice by the way, what specific colour did you ask for?

N8 is in Salford, but he travels, give him a shout & ask if he has before/after pics, but I've seen the work 1st hand, its quality work I can assure you.

He's also an official sponsor of the forum, so all goes to help everyone :)

NHN, cheers for the shout! i'll definitely consider it!

I really like the shadow chrome finish thats standard on the BBS CSL's but i'm unsure on how difficult this finish is to achieve.

They were £160 that's shot blasted and painted. I heard him call the colour rover gun metal?

£160 is what i call a bargain! i heard that they were cheap before hand but that is super cheap for a full refurb.

Apparently the guys there previously worked for a company in prescot and have a few years experience under their belts.

I'll be popping down there this week for a look. Cheers for the info.

They have done a good job, one of them had a chip in it so I took it back and they are doing the whole wheel again for me.
It's well worth it for that price, the others are spot on and the finish is really good, I was a bit apprehensive about the colour at first as the gunmetal one in there they have is very dark so I said I wanted it lighter and I just let them do them and had to trust that they would be lighter and I couldn't of asked for better result

I like shadow chrome but I remember asking someone to do a set years ago and they said its hard to achieve a good result, but that obviously depends how good the sprayer is

My mate has shadow chrome they look really good as a change from gun metal

What wheels did he get refurbed mate? any pics?

Thats what I'm worried about mate. I'll ask them when i go and see what they can do.

I'm looking for a finish like this....

N8 - thanks for the offer. How much are we talking for all 4 wheels? (Pm me a price if you wish)

Also.. How would we go about the service? Ie would I have to drop the wheels off with you and how long would it take?

Thanks, Andy.

Hi Andy,
I got some kerbed silver wheels off eBay for my "winter tyres" and refurbed them in the Audi "black edition" titanium colour.

(Actually did them myself, so they just cost a load of time and £30 for two colour match aerosols, but even if you were thinking of getting them done professionally, the pictures below give you some idea of the colour....) Its Audi paint code L8AU...

They look smart mate, thumbs up for your DIY effort!

Im still not 100% on the colour yet although that black edition 'titanium' was my initial choice.

The thing is i've never been a massive fan of dark wheels, they never seem to give you that wow factor that a freshly cleaned, sparkling silver alloy does.
