Hi all,

Just posting up to show my 2009 Audi A3 2.0TDi 170 S-Line..

Is this a facelift? 8P3 as referred to on here?

I like the car, but would like to do a few little mods.. de-badge, de-chrome front grille and add cruise control. Any tips or advice?

I also fancy having the wheels a little darker, but not black and perhaps dropping it a little, 20mm or so on something decent like Eibach springs.

Thanks for looking

Nice! How about LED DRL Headlights?

What about them? I don't have them or xenons.. do you mean the christmas tree lights? or just replacing the DRL's to an LED bulb as opposed to the standard halogen type in there now?

I was going to put in my original post, but might as well put it here now.

My bootlid will ONLY open with the key, it wont open any other way, I almost locked my keys in there last week when changing my shoes to site boots at work. Is this normal?

May need coding to allow opening via the lid latch.

Give me a shout if you want cruise fitted, also can fit the bixenon with led drl headlights :)

BLACK WHEELS ...Mean & Moody....&

A3's BLACK Grille.

Also, Looking at Eibach Pro Kit to give me 20mm drop? Are S-lines lower than a standard A3 with same engine? Does it make a difference whether or not have electric going to the suspension and how do I tell if I have this?

I'm happy to fit all parts myself, will just have to find someone to do my geometry afterwards, how low before you would require camber correction?

Thanks for your post, I'd already seem then for sale but was wondering if I was able to fit the honeycomb S3 type grille and fog light covers? Do I have the right bumper?

The honeycomb RS3 grille will fit yes, although it's quite expensive and difficult to get one in the UK. Try eBay.de (Germany) as Rob has mentioned in another thread posted yesterday I think. - See this thread - http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-sportback-8p-chassis/179084-honeycomb-grille.html

The S3 fog grilles won't fit your car. You will only be able to fit S-Line fog grilles, which I have a couple of variations of (Black Edition and Glossy Black with Chrome Surround).

Obviously you could put an S3 bumper on but that depends on your budget.

Thanks for your reply, I wouldn't bother with the honeycomb unless I could fit to the fogs as well, might look a little odd otherwise.

How does the optics grille differ to the standard grille? Other than the black outline? What kind of finish is this? Is it durable?

Well, have a look at Rob's on here. He has it on his white S-Line. He might be along shortly and could post a pic for you if you can't find it.

The only difference is the Black Edition one has a Glossy Black Surround as apposed to the standard Chrome surround. Both are identical apart from this. The one I have is genuine too so it's as durable as the standard grille.

Here's my A3 S-Line with the grille on. If you look at my signature you will find my fitting instructions too.

Here's mine before I changed the grille - (I actually think the internal plastic where the number plate is etc is black as apposed to dark grey on the original)

Ok great, thanks for the reply. I think I want these, one of my fog light surrounds has a whole in it, think a stone went straight through it so instead of changing that, I could go all black.

What are you headlights? They look different to mine and we have the same car

OK. Cool, i'll drop you a PM.

The headlights are Xenon LED DRL's. Can be fitted but quite expensive, probably into your thoasands as it's not just a case of putting new headlights in. NHN (Nigel) is your man on here if you want these done.

I don't want to be spending thousands on lights, but happy to spend a few hundred on little bits and pieces.

Slightly lower, black grilles, de-badge, lamin-x fogs is all I want externally :)

Like the car Lee and like the sounds of the plans. Look forward to seeing them

Seeing your car, the grey one made me start looking at all this black stuff!! Its your fault ;)

Did you do camber adjustment after lowering

Back when I was younger.. 18, I dropped Astra Mk4 60mm and ripped through set of 17's down to the wire on the inside and didn't even realise, serious negative camber!

Next on list for this car is front tyres and brakes, then I can play!
