crashed!

I was in first gear when it happend.just hit some icr and it went wrong from there.thing is it happend soooooo slow and there was nothing I could do

Yea been a nightmare in the village I live in. The main road is shut so everyone has to go the back road 5 miles into town, just sheet ice and everyone is stuck down there. Iv got a 4x4 but under no illusion that it makes braking traction any better.

Couple years ago I was in my van and was going up a hill that was completely iced, soon as I stopped it would slide backwards down the hill, and touch the brakes would make it slowly spin... Rather unpleasant.

I can see why your garage might not want to touch it, it's one thing beating, filling and painting panels, but its a main structural part. I always though damage to the pillar always meant a write off. You might want to consider buying another A3, Could work out cheaper and bodywork can be hefty money sometimes.

Nooooooooooo, you hit an Ibiza Cupra R? Man those things are rare!!!!

Edit: Still gutted for you though mate. It's hard to tell from the pics, but is the pillar actually 'damaged' in a structural way? or just a minor blemish on it? Will the damage effect how a new screen will sit?

if it's not compromised the intergrity of the pillar, and a new screen will fit, I'd just bash a new screen in there and forget about it.

It's just slightly dented, I know it can be repaired but thought id let a specialist do the job so he can double check everything is all good and true.

Apart from that its just a door, wing and headlight clip. I already have a r32 bumper so that's one but out the way. Might aswell get him to bosh the windscreen in too.was really looking forward to the trackday next month aswell.
I'm never going to sell the car anyway so I might as well rebuild.I've put too much time effort and money to just scrap it when it can be fixed.
Nah it wasn't a beeza R, it was supposed to spell ice lol ****** predictive text.

Thing is it doesn't matter what you drive, fwd, awd.if the car loses traction on ice,its all over.

Right guys,I need some help.I got a new door and wing to swap over.wing is done. Stripped down the door but one of the 2 spline bolts closest to the lock is rounded.any ideas of how to get to ***** out?

Hi mate,

A flat bladed solid screwdriver & a hammer has worked for me in the past, the blade needs to be very slightly wider that the splines and it'll cut new grooves as you knock it in - you should then be able to give it a turn

So finally I've got her back on the road! Feels so good driving her again.body shop done a really good job.if anyone in the south east needs decent body work let me know and ill send you his number. For now I'm gong to enjoy driving her then maybe go k04. Thanks for all the comments!
