Noticed a smell of petrol last night so checked it out today and i found one of the fuel lines has a hole in it.
it's one of the Lines at the front of the fuel filter.
its about 3 inches from the filter and its looks like the line is after wearing away from rubbing off the body of the car.
as I have the car on the ground, I can't get a good look at much.
just wondering how much of a job is it to replace the line and is it one full line going all the way to the engine?
from the little I can see, it seems like a nightmare of a job.

its an **** to do
worse if you havent got a lift.

Made a mistake in the first post.
the line is at the back of the fuel filter so it's one of the ones going to the tank.

no idea never change one going back to tank

its not a major job, but you need a ramp really. take it to a garage and get a price just for fitting, you can get the pipe yourself to save money, but id get it changed soon as it could get worse.

its spraying out loads of petrol.
a friend who is a mechanic in a seat main dealer is doing it for me tomorrow night.

My friend was able to repair the line without having to take it off so not too bad a job in the end.
A bit alarming to see how Audi fitted a fuel line and left it against a sharp edge of the body.
A disaster waiting to happen.
