Alarm issues

Hi just wondered if anyone could help, i have an Audi a3 56 PLATE 2.0 tdi i've noticed tonight that when i lock the vehical with the key fob the indicators flash (as they should) and the alarm is set ( small red light ontop of dash blinks) the issue is that after between 5 and 20 min later the alarm is sounding and light flashing, this is really stating to annoy people in the area as well as me, i'm now at the stage where i can't lack the car in fear of the alarm sounding off all night, please help!!!

have just managed to remove the rear cover from inside the boot lid, and have noticed that there is some damp particularly around the terminal to the boot lock, so maby this was giving false info to the car thinking the boot lid was open, does anyone know how i can disable the alarm temp, i have had a look around there and hav noticed a box!!! with a plugged in terminal on the left, 3 at the front and 3 on the right side, i have discovered that the one on the right side must be something to do with the arial as the radio didnt tune when i unplugged it, so i have unplugged the 3 at the front, (sorry if this is all very vage) to see if this disables the alarm????​

I would advise against disabling the alarm.

First port of call is some electrical contact spray from Halfrauds, then maybe putting some form of heat shrink around the connector until you identify the point of the water ingress. Unless you find the source of the issue it may go beyond the alarm.

Is it possible the water is coming from the rear window washer pipe as it goes into the wiper mechanism. This use to happen to my mkiv golf all the time it never came off completely just enough to let water out every time I used my rear wash but there was still water washing the rear window just a reduced pressure jet of water.

As said above it is most likely washer wiper pipe or motor leaking as it is a common problem.

Without a doubt on a 56 plate car. Just had to replace my rear wiper motor due to the same issues. The new motors have been revised so it doesn't happen again....

It's bound to be the rear washer issue. Before that's fixed you can turn the alarm off by pushing the buttons on the drivers door edge although I'm not sure if the door/boot sensors can be disabled via these buttons. I've also heard that pushing the lock button twice quickly on the key when you lock the car may disable the alarm (not 100% sure about this though).

I don't recommend disabling the alarm but I understand how embarrassing it can be with the alarm going off all night

Thanks for all the replies I have now checked and its defiantly coming from the rear wash, I think the cover from the motor can be unscrewed, is there then a seal, if there is could this imply be replaced or has the whole unit got o be replaced.

The whole unit needs replacing. If you remove the cover of your current wiper motor, you will find it full of rusty gunk and I expect you have lots of play in the wiper arm. Just replace the wiper motor for the revised part.
