Gauging interest - team dynamics pro race 1.2 - potential group buy

sorry so VAT needs adding the the wheel price or it's included? I need to get the calc out again.

So my calcs say £540.60 for 17x8 delivered. Similar to the rimstock deal except we only need 12 people.

Believe yuo need to add VAT on top; although Mike's woring of "all above +VAT" isn't clear - I can't imagine he's knocked 20% off though - so I would assume add VAT to those prices. Best thing is we only need 12 people, yes, and it's a couple quid cheaper lol

Yup, confirmed that VAT DOES need to be added. Also, Mike says he can't do anything else on the price if we get more than 12 people. So looks like this is the best deal so far just because we need less people. So, what do other people think?

Can Mike give any idea on timings from ordering to wheels being made and distributed? I kind of need some pretty quickly. If they are going to take a while I may just go solo. If not, I'm in:

1- Westy 17x8 Pro Race 1.2 5x100 ET25

getting there mate :) lot's of missed calls between Mike and the supplier - bear with me caller :)

hmmm, bad news boys - looks like lead time for the wheels from awesome will be near enough 4 weeks :S

That's Unfortunate not worth the 50p per wheel saving!! Well it was worth a try thanks for your effort mate

well, how long is the lead time from rimstock themselves? Also with them we need the full 20 people, only need 12 people for awesome

Thanks for all the hard work in this thread but I really can't see us getting 12 people together. I've only seen maybe 5 really interested members.

Shame we can't get this deal on seperate orders.

I've got my eye on some other wheels as a cheap backup for my up coming track days so I might revisit the TD idea another time. If we have enough for 12 then I'm still in.

hmm - alright boys, can we have a quick round-up to see who is still interested? Just to summarize - AwesomeGTi have matched rimstocks offer but onyl need 12 people to seal the deal. Who's in? So far me and Westy

Other thing is the elad time from awesome is 4 weeks - maybe too long for us. Munch, what's the lead time from rimstock direct?

right, apologies for the lack of comunication the lat week, ipad has gone up the swanny so had no internet.

I had an email from andy at rimstock yesterday, hes been keeping an eye out on the forum about all the interest and worry about the price.
To cut a long story short, he had offered us for 20 orders, the max 45% discount. But upon seeing awsome offering the same offer for less people, he has decided to pull out. Not that we were going to, but hes not in it for a bidding war.

So, looks like if we want these wheels, awsomegti is going to be the place of choice.

Now due to unforseen circumstances, my wallet has taken a bashing and as mot and tax is due on the a3 within the next few weeks, and i know its going to need some bits. Im going to have to postpone my interest in the group buy. Unless i can shift this punto gt engine and the rest of my punto collection.

ooof, sorry Munch. Hope me involving AwesomeGTI didn't damage any of your relationships at rimstock...really sorry if it did, didn't mean that to happen!

So far we then have 4 confirmed people for the Awesome deal. C'mon guys, we need more people involved otherwise I'll have to tell Mike from Awesome that unfortunately it won't happen

anyone else? I'm going to have to call Mike and tell him no today otherwise, can't leave him hanging around

ok guys, before 5pm today i'm giving mike an answer. So far it looks like it isn't going to happen

Oh well. Looks like I'll have £500 more to spend on my trip to Sydney in December. :(

just not enough people eager to actually put the money down and go for it. Plenty of people put down specs for their wheels, but when push comes to shove only like 4 or 5 of us were willing to go ahead. A shame, i'll need to get some wheels from elsewhere

I've been pining after the Pro Race 1.2 for ages - I will get some one day I'll just have to pay more. sob sob!

It's just one of those things ain't it. sometimes group buys work out sometimes they don't. It's understandable why this would be a difficult one.

Appreciate people putting their time in to try and make it work though.

Hi all,

Had to tell Mike that unfortunately it wasn't going to happen. Thanks for the input guys, sorry it didn't work this time around.

Cheers,
Aran

Alright guys,
Mike from Awesome just came back to me. So far he's only knocked 50p per wheel off (lol). BUT, they only want a minimum order of 48 wheels - so we only need 12 people!!! Prices are below for the 1.2 and Monza wheels. I've asked him what happens if we get like 20 people ordering, so i'll get back to you guys on that soon.

Pro Race 1.2's

17x7 £90.25
7.5x17 £98.50
8x17 £109.50
9x17 £126.00
8x18 £112.25
9x18 £131.50

Can I add my interest to this as a noob?
I would be looking for Pro Race 1.2s in Anthracite or Hi Power, 5x112 ET45 18x8J
Cash waiting providing I can shift these Neuspeed RSe's

If you read a bit further up the page its no longer happening.

I obviously skipped a bit, although reading through it doesn't directly say a group buy isn't happening, but no problem thought it might be worth a shot.

me and westy already bought some wheels, so I imagine me and him would be out at this stage
