A Few Shots From This Sunny Weekend

Its been a great weekend weather wise, and so I decided to forget about doing the decorating round at my flat, and instead spent the weekend doing some photos.

I've also framed and captioned some too, I think it works, what do you reckon?

What camera and lens do you use?

Cheers. Having the MX-5 there made a nice change, as I find silver cars are just boring after a while for taking photos of.

Acerjak - I'm using a Canon EOS 1d and today I was using a 50mm prime lens (F1.4) and a 70-200 (f2.8) although I think all of the shots above were on the 50mm apart from number 3. And number 2 was flashed.

I'd like to say that was thought about on number 3, but being behind a long lens and in line with the wheel must have been a pure fluke!

I was shooting 1/3 over too, it seemed to help.

Hi Nick, nice work again, i think the "framed and captioned" works well.
Maybe more so with the Graffiti photos. :thumbsup:

Did a few shots on the new lens, kinda portrait type stuff which i'm a bit new to, then had a good play in Photoshop, something a bit different (go easy on the model!). I've also applied the same idea to a couple of other shots (the old S3).

They're good photographs but I think they look a tad-over edited TBH... The last one is my favourite though.

Thanks Tom. I don't disagree with that actually, they do look over-edited...but thats the idea I think! Alhtough i've not perfected it really, the reds looks a bit too over ****** for a start.

There seems to me to be an increasing trend towards the post processing aspect of photographic art these days and so I thought i'd try and improve on that area of the process too and understand the skills. I don't think it compensates for poor photogrpahy (some try) and it's not to everybody's taste, but I think the results can be interesting and produce good pieces of art.

Take a look at the likes of Laurent Nivalle, I love his work at the moment he's a prime example of this kind of stuff, but he gets slated a lot for over processing - doesnt stop him being one of the most susccesful car photographers/CGI artists of the moment though.
