stretched tyres???

any one have an opinion on this? thinking about getting some as my wheels foul the arches and it annoying

For what car with what engine? From a performance point of view, I'd go with standard tyres, if you just want clearance to avoid scraping and don't drive your car hard, then stretched tyres is ok. Have a look at Toyo and Falken tyres, these are generally a bit narrower than normal when it gets to the tread part. I ran 265/30R19s on the rear of my B5 Passat Estate in the past with no clearance issues.
 
yeah, i do run my car hard sometimes, it might be fine when i stiffen up the susspension, i dunno.......
 
I think they look ridiculous, they affect the handling in a bad way plus offering no rim protection. I would personally buy a set of wheels which sit further into the wheel arches than fit too narrow tyres
 
yeah i know what you mean but i like my wide wheels, tbh i could just take the spacers off lol but i dont want to :)

My tyres have a slight stretch and I've not noticed any handling issues.

There is no rim protection but thats a risk you take with wheels and tyres. Not every tyre comes with rim protection.

How much of a stretch are you thinking of?
