if you want a bit more noise, there's a flap in the standard exhaust that open and closes. hold that open with a bit of wire, that will give you more noise.

It's a vacuum operated flap in the exhaust, its shut at low revs to keep the noise down and then opens at around 3000 rpm I think. It's called the "flapper mod" on the R32, the pipe is removed and plugged basically and so keeping the flap open all the time. Wouldn't of thought it does any harm to the engine....
As far as I'm aware. you just disconnect the mechanism. and use a bit of wire to keep flap open. so I don't think it will harm the exhaust at all. I've been told it's an easy mod.
Ive got my original exhaust in the garage. I'll have a look in more detail one of these days!

Any one got any more gen on this and will it have any detrimental effect on the running of the engine. I can't see there being any probs with it but just want to make sure before I have a go at it.

I think what you do its take the pipe off the valve. Then seal it. then hold flap open with bit of wire.
If you want some pictures of the part needed to be fiddled with, ill go out to my garage and take some? My standard exhaust with 1,500k is sat there...might as well make some use of it!
