This was the the only fault that came up which is causing my ESP light to stay on constantly

058F Lateral acceleration sensor circuit defective

A friend plugged in his works Bosch laptop. I've read that there is a sensor under the steering wheel that can cause this issue?
Anyone had this on their's and managed to resolve this issue?

Thanks

ive only ever read that people have changed them really to resolve it. im having to purchase a new longitudinal acceleration sensor next week due to a similar problem

I've had this - can't remember if it was lateral or longitudinal that was playing up - but replaced it myself and all been fine since. The sensor is expensive though, was over £100 IIRC and it's dealer only unless you get one from a scrapper.

Easy replacement was it? Think I'l ask a breakers for one.

Yeah, it was easy enough. If you've got small hands and don't mind scraping you knuckles, you can do it without removing the lower dashboard. With the lower dash out the way you've got loads more room to play with.
