My sister's A3 has just had 2 new front wheel bearings done at a garage run by monkeys. They have warped the ABS disk which means the light is on. Where can I buy new ones and how much are they? if its Audi only part, gonna get the garage to stump up for the cost.

They normally only come with a new hub tbh... VAG may sell them seperately but suspect it will be a hub or nowt

<tuffty/>

the abs disc screws on iirc

mk3 golfs/corrados with abs definaly screw on with 3 disc type screws thru the hub.

more than certain these are spot welded to the hub.

how do you know its the sensor rings? is it coming up with a sensor fault but the light doesnt come on till its been driven? is the abs chattering/cutting in as you come to a stop?

its very common to bend the rings tbh. when you press the hub out of the bearing the inner bearing race sticks on the hub, and cus of the sensor ring its a total ballache trying to chisel it off!
i get the grinder out and grind thru the race as much as i dare then chisel it, first hit and it cracks thru where its been ground away and just about falls off.

I assuming its the sensor ring. It was fine, went into the garage, ABS light is on, the ring is bent. I dont know if it was bent before or not, but it seems suspect.

Edit: It seems to be testing itsself when driving, then the light comes on after a bit. The pedal is juddering when braking. After a minute or two the light comes on then it stops. I had replaced the sensor not too long ago so I'm ruling it out. Unless they have damaged the sensor when changing the bearing.

scan the car see what code you get

sounds like theyve damaged it. take it back and kick off.
