Hi all, I'm new to this forum
I've got 2.5 v6 tdi Skoda Superb Auto
i knew it would drink a bit more then my previous cars 1.9tdiVW or 2.2dti.vectra but need help to get more economy out of it
my plan is.....:
1. Pipercross panel filter
2. Air box mod : get rid of plastic restriction at the bottom of the box and drill few extra holes to get more air in
3. New oil and filter service (5w-30 fully syn)
4. De-cat
5. Lowering springs to bring it down for aerodynamics
6. front Laguna splitter for aerodynamics
7. remap or chip-box (not sure which one)
..
if there is any thing special that i have to do please let me know cos i like the motor and wish to keep it for a long time (may be)

I have a tuning box on an A4 Quattro Avant and its giving about 36mpg or 500 miles pertank mixed mway cruising.Theres not much more I would do cos the Autos are heavy on fuel with this unit but its a great engine

Its also auto Triptonic and the box is a genuine Tuning Box Co one which are I think about £500 new but found on Ebay for £100 so worth trying.Possibly makes little diff around town cos the Triptonic makes the engine rev higher and I am lucky to get 30mpg if the traffic is slow but its an easy ride and the wife will drive it .Mileage is about110k and it was my sons car and he fitted the box about a year ago. Before that I had the manual which can be driven more economically but the wife could not cope

1-6 are going to make sod all difference to fuel economy, may make it worse, the more air into the engine the more fuel is dumped in to compensate, this will be monitored by the ecu via the maf. Spend the money on a good remap.

well my std. filter is still fresh so no need air filter for another few months , will wait for some sales to start then will swap it
but the Laguna splitter is just an idea not sure what it will look like when i drop it around -35 -40 mm on some springs .
then will see how much it will hold the road .!
