A4 cab trade in value help

i have been looking around for another for the last few weeks and the offers that i am gettin for my car on a trade in seem really low, between £6000 and £6500, i have walked away from a few cars i have really liked because i think the trade in values have been ridicuously low.

i went to see a car that i want today and the guy has offered me £7400 for my car, i was quite surprised after the previous low offers.

i read something in the paper last sunday that rag top convertible prices have gone through the floor, so i think i got a good offer and am probably going to accept it.

would you say his offer, is too low, about right or have i been given a really good price??

Recently bought a 2004 2.5 TDi cab with 42k on it, and paid just shy of £9k for it. Looked a good price as others around same year on Auto Trader were going for a lot more. Depending on the mileage, history, condition of yours, you should be getting higher offers than that?

mine has 96000 miles, is in excellent condition, and has full history. shame i didnt advertise it on autotrader, you might have bought it

Sounds a good price to me for a trade in. I was getting offers as low as £4500 for my S4 a couple months back.

i was thinking the same thing, i had 3 or 4 offers around the 6-6500 mark, then this guy offers me 7400. 2nd hand car prices are all over the place at the moment, i didnthave any idea what price to sell my car privately for. i have accepted it anyway, and pick my new car up next friday, cant wait.

I have been looking at a few of these, what do you think of it so far? Has it got all the toys: sat nav, leather etc

i really like them, i wanted xenons and leather, never been too fussed about built in sat nav really, prefer my tom tom lol. but i looked at a fair few that had what i wanted but things didnt seen right with them. the one i have found has leather, 18" monzas, auto lights and auto wipers, cd changer in the arm rest, auto dim rear mirror and electric folding mirrors. also full vw history. I am not too fussed about the xenons, would have been nice but will have to wait til i get my next car after the golf.

the a4 cab is just too heavy for my liking, very good on the motorway but not a car you can throw around. i find the GTi pretty quick, and have enjoyed driving the few that i looked at.

Yeah I think I am gonna buy a mk5 gti. Saw a few around that I like for good money. So just gotta work out how much to let my cab go for. Think I am gonna remove the sat nav, Bluetooth, remote roof module and b7 rear lights first.

there is abig selection of GTi's on the market, searching through them takes ages. i think i am making the right choice, only time will tell lol

wise move taking your toys out i think, will make good money selling them individually i reckon.

i see your from west midlands, i am heading over that way to get my GTi on friday

The market for 6 cylinder diesels is pretty poor ATM.

tell me about it, i was surprised to get 7400 for my car on trade in after the previous low offers, really glad the GTi he was selling was upto my expectations, would have been gutted if it wasnt.
