Got a set of 18 multi spoke split rims and want a full refurb, does anyone know anywhere in the midlands where i can get them chemically stripped and blasted and then re-sprayed?

also how much would this cost?

Depends who you go to, I've been quoted anything from £1 per inch to £316.17 from a firm in Leeds!

The average rates I seem to be getting are around £150 to £200 for a chemical strip back, powder coat and lacquer and re fit and balance the tyres.

I'm in West Yorkshire.

Have a try of Metal Magic in Barnsley. They'll do it for around £30 - £35 per wheel. They're a small family run business and have used them before and would definitely recommend them

Metal Magic Alloy Wheel Refurb in Barnsley

That would be ideal but its a bit of a stretch getting there from the midlands!

Called a couple of localish garages round here and they are £100 per wheel and 5-7 days to do the job.

That's very over priced. I had quote from guy down here for £200 all in (powdercoated) before and from what I've seen of his work before he was very good. There was a powdercoater up your way few people have used said was very cheap but very good I'll see if I can find out the name

Edit: City Powder Coaters Ltd. Birmingham. 0121 448 7646.

I got a couple of quotes recently (last weekend infact) for my 18" BBS Speedlines and both quotes were @ £500... One was from an established wheel specialist and the other from an independent.

This reasonable for those wheels?

Did the garages you got the quotes from realise they are split rims? It makes a difference - I was also quoted at 2 days from one company and 3 days from the other, 5-7 days seems excessive.

£500 is not far off being right to be fair but I always sort ASN lads out

Where are you mate and what do you charge?

Dont want to spend to much as im only tarting the car up to sell it on.
