Opions on Eibach and H&R lowering springs for s-line

Ive know its been discussed before (i have read a few older posts) but now people who have lowerd just on springs i wondered what there thoughts were

Im thinking about lowering my tdi s line in the future and wondered which springs people would recommend with s line shocks (eibach,h&r or other)

I would like it lower than standard but would like to avoid a harsh bouncy ride and i also have quite a few speed bumps in my area,so cant be to low and dont really want coilovers

Also if anyone has any recent pics of either eibach or h&r springs fitted along with the details of the drop (mm) that would be great and at the same time what size wheel spacers would be best to use with the standard 18" alloys for the time being

Is your car FWD? see the thing is my friend has a R32 which uses the 4WD system. Hes now lowered on springs and in terms of ride quality you cannot notice any difference. Im really fussy with a horrible bumpy ride so i havent lowered the car yet but i to would like opinions from owners who have lowered there FWD cars.

The 4wd systems weigh the car down a fair bit so the added weight makes the cars quite smooth compared to the FWD cars which are light but tend to be more bumpy!

Do you reckon these will be ok with standard Sport dampers? Covered 50k.

It's always best to change the dampers to match the springs but with you having the Sport dampers you should get a few more miles out of them with the H&R's on.

Im running 50mm H&R's, purchased from DPM, on my A3 3door Sline.

Would recommend them But then again, i haven't been in an Eibach A3 to compare.

ive read somewhere the eibachs sit lower on the rear than the front,is this true if so think ill be looking at the H&Rs

Also does anyone else have any pics and details of the drop height

I thought it was the other way around.... they lower more at the front than the rear.

I always think that A3's seem lower at the front as standard, so the fact that eibach lowers the front even more than the rear sounds not that good to me.

I took a photo of the H&R's and Eibach's together when we put them on and you can see that the H&R's have a progressive spring

No problems with speed humps but obviously you can't just fly over them, the wheels are also a 44 offset i.e. 10mm nearer the arch and don't rub at all.

AFAIK they are 35mm springs as that is the only option listed for the 3.2. It was about 30mm ish from S-Line height that it dropped. As for the wheels, they are 19's

can you also tell me if the pic was taken straight after fitting or when they had settled as they normally drop a little more once they have settled?
I really wouldnt want to go much lower than that due to the amount of speed bumps in my area

Your not really gonna notice a massive difference.

I think you'll find that the ride is better than oem, a little softer feeling but firm enough. I had them on my old A3 and it was the first thing I bought for my current one
