Went for a drive yesterday up to Col de la Bonette, 2715 m / 8907 ft high, supposedly the highest road in europe, only reopened a few weeks ago due to snow.

Its the first time I've been able to drive my car properly with some fresh Vredestein Sessantas on it since November when I bought it. I came from an '06 megane sport and that handled wicked and was pretty surprised how the sportback went through the twisties yesterday! To say it's a 182bhp 2.0Tdi front wheel drive 5 door hatchback, it's brilliant.

Anyway here are a few pics, I think from Nice on the coast up through the foot hills of the alps to the highest road in europe, i have to say this is the best road I have driven, even better than the stelvio pass.

Wow now that looks like a road that would be an absolute blast to drive on! Great pics mate.

Looks tremendous mate. I must say the stelvio is on my list of to do's...one day:racer:

I could do with that snow plough in the winter for where I live!!

Hahaha that looks epic mate, does it combine both worlds of driving and snowboarding?
Looks like it'd be a treat to visit! That said I'm sure theres some good driving roads here in British Columbia but I've not got my A3 :(

Cheers, the stelvio is amazing, to look at. But going up all of those hairpins is quite annoying! slowing down to first gear and put full lock on to get round a corner isn't my idea of exciting driving, This road is just over 60 miles from the sea to peak and its between 50 to 100 mph all the way with open corners that you can apex at high speed. The road is a dead end in the winter that just leads to two ski resorts and in the summer the top of the valley opens up once the snow has melted and reveals an awesome mountain pass! yep yep snowboarding is included every weekend!

That looks awesome mate!! I think we need to start a few A3 road trips!!

Love the Yorkshire sticker haha

thanks guys, bit tacky getting my own "yorkshire" stickers made but every so often down here in france you get the odd thumbs up! ha ha.

Heres a vid from last year just to give you an idea of the roads from a driving level perspective.

That looks amazing - perfect place to get some lovely A3 snaps ;-)

WOW! the first pic is amazing! Alps would most certainly will be on my to-visit list for sure.

Very nice car mate, not sure about the stickers though lol :p

Some really epic shots there - I want to go!
