I have been thinking about getting 10mm spacers for the rear of my A4 for a couple of months now and wanted opinions on what ones to buy.

First, which one's do i go for. The spacers where you need longer bolts or the hubcentric spacers?
I have heard that the hubcentric spacers are the safer option, is this true?

What are other A4 members running and where have you bought them from?

Sorry, excuse my ignorance. I thought the hubcentric ones were bolted to the hub and the the alloys bolted to the spacer? So you wouldn't need longer bolts, just another set. Is this not correct?

It may be the case on wider spacers but not with 10mm. You will still need to use longer bolts to go through the spacer and into your hub. The hub centric part just stoops your wheels becoming off centre.

Its adapters that bolt to the hub then the wheel to them. you can get 10mm hubcentrics with longer bolts from ebay for £50, need some myself actually.

Hubcentric spacers sit on the cars hub at one side then have a lip on the other side for the wheel to sit on so it basically still has a hub, just stops your wheels from vibrating.

what wheels you running? specs?

i'm running OEM audi RS6 18's on my B7 A4?

Go for 15mm hubcentric spacers, will put you at ET28, will sit bang on in the arches and wont give you any rubbing. if you decide to go low just replace your tyres with 225's instead of 235's.

do 10mm's on the front.

cheers for the advice, i'll be looking to get some lower springs later in the summer (only 30mm though, still needs to be comfy for my long daily commute)

but needed to save them getting stollen. I'll look into getting longer locking nuts seperatly then, cheers

Go lower than 30mm if you can, 30mm springs will give you a drop of about 5mm on an s-line, your better off with 50mm springs, if you buy decent like Weitec or Eibach you will be even more comfortable than on s-line and sitting pretty :eyebrows:

Yeah i've been speaking to AMD at lakeside about lowering springs and they advised Eibach would be the best for comfort. Why would i only get 5mm lower with 30mm springs?

An S-Line spec is already dropped by around 25mm over a more boggo standard car, which is what all of the lowering measurements from Eibach and co are measured against mate :)

I might advise you get B5 front spring cups or whatever it is they're actually called lol, as they'll drop the front a touch more and level out the arch gap nicely!

Hope you don't mind me asking this and jacking your thread but it's on the same theme....O.G mate, what size spacers would you recommend for a set of 18" OEM DTM wheels?

cheers for the info, will go for 50mm lowering springs then to get a 35mm drop (if i'm reading correctly).

What is your ET on DTM wheels Sam? im guessing they'll be ET43, if so then i recommend 15mm spacers on standard springs with 235/35 or if you lower it 50mm or lower then youll have to get 225s or 215 profile tyres to stop your arches from touching the tyres over bumps.

basically i have 50mm drop on ET43 8.5j wheels and 15mm spacers and 225/35s are perfect.

Cheers mate, I'll have to check up on the ET, not too sure off the top of my head.
