Over the last few weeks my car has started making a blowing noise around the turbo and manifold area, can't really pin point as there doesnt seem any room for a good poke around but the smell of fumes confirms there is a leak. Is there any common failures? Gaskets etc which may be the problem? finally anywhere around West Yorkshire I can take it to get repaired?

Typically its the gasket from the mani to the turbo that goes but it could also be due to a cracked manifold... replacement gasket can be done easily...

Fingers crossed on it been the gasket! You got a rough idea on how much it will cost?

What about fitting, how long will it take as I havent the ability to do it myself :(

Shouldn't take long mate, charge pipe off, bolts out, old gasket slips out, new one in, bolts back in, charge pipe back on.

Thats it.

Have tried to have a poke around but can't see anything as I don't have any tools. Phoned around a few garages but none to be polite can be ***** with the work involved and seem to cringe as soon as I say manifold. Any recommendations on garages to replace the gasket or anyone off here able to do it, willing to pay. Live in west Yorkshire, thanks

If it's the gasket it's an hours work tops, most garages should be able to sort itif you aren't confident of doing it youself. Whereabouts in West Yorks?

Between Huddersfield and Leeds, id give it a bash myself just don't have the tools required.
