Hi guys,

I've had a brief search of the forum on how to fit HID kits for the 8P's but cant seem to find any threads etc...

I fitted a HID on my Focus RS it was simply headlight out plug n play...No hassle...Top results aswell...only took 15 minutes

Is it easy to remove headlights? Or is it bumper off job?

Cheers

The reason you cannot find any threads is that the HIDs cause noise on the canbus and blow the wiper motor up at a cost of £150 each time, many have learnt the hard way. If you are going to do it, the only reliable way is a complete OEM setup @ £megabux

That and its a road traffic offense too. We have already had somebody in with a rectification notice to have them removed. VOSA are also planning to make it part of the test at some point so any cars that dont have correct projection lamps, auto levelling & washers will fail.

i learnt the hard way cost me close on £300 to fix to so took them out very promptly and then read about problems with the fitting of aftermarket xenon's doh if i read it first i wouldnt have put them in lol , but i agree the only way to do it properly is oem and they are £££££

....So is there any H7 bulbs that are a nice ice blue colour?

Phillips are plop!

Any more?

I know its down to personal taste, but I just don't see the logic in fitting coloured bulbs that give out less light.
I personally want the brightest bulbs I can get irrespective of colour....

The best of the "extra bright" H7 bulbs at the moment, is the Philps X-Treme vision. They give out loads more light than standard bulbs and, if you set up your headlight beam properly, give a spread and colour of light on the motorway that's not bad compared to standard HIDs (I know cos I've had both...)

But - its a very bright white light, so you probably won't like them...

Yea thats what i have, was gonna get PIAA but was told they are for show purposes so it phillips extreme for me i bought them off fleebay alot cheaper than the shops too = thumbs up

which are the filiments people have been having reliablity issues with?? im sure there PIAA ones....
