Hi guys and gals,

Just want to see the feedback on these products?

Diesel power chip Box

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Diesel-power-...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item439f87648f

It claims to give you up to 40% more BHP 40% more torque and save you up to 20% fuel consumption?

Now I think that is quite a claim and have doubts weather do what it says on the tin?

But I have spoke to a few people and it seems that the product does work to some extent?

It got a decent feedback.

Now do anyone out there have 1st hand experience and would you recommend these type of products?

Any feedback good or bad would hughly appriciated.

:iagree: Don't get one.

Get a remap instead!

Those chips just trick the car into thinking the fuel is hotter than it actually is and so the car injects more fuel, causing more power.

However, the computer will not know that it's using more fuel, and therefore will give false MPG figures.

Not sure on those type of increases tbh! Think those figures are high!!!

Ive used the Tunit box in the past, it was adjustable and was good on the 2.0tdi and is removeable unlike an ecu (for selling car etc) but the ecu gets better figures.

Depends what you want really but I'd stick with an ecu remap.

Alot of the Ebay boxes are rubbish so if you get a box stick to a well known make.

And thank you navnaryar and 54sportback thought it sound a little too good to be true.

pm Dan! on here he doesnt have that box but he does have one and if very satisfied with it

Dont know about the more expensive boxes but the cheaper one are just a resistor that kids the ecu in to fuelling the car more, then in turn they smoke like a good one and are worse on diesel

I had a tuning box fitted by a comapny called Diesel power tuning ( www.dieselpowertuning.co.uk ) and its very good, I paid £300 for it and it should take around 8 months for it to pay for itself before I start seeing the difference. Im getting around 62 MPG at the moment which isnt even motorway driving. I notice where as I used to have a lot more power from around 2000RPm its now more powerfull from stand still. Ive only got the 1.9 TDi though.
