Any other software available eg laptop based DIS

Apologies if this is the wrong section

Just wondering if there is any other software that will work to display info about the car eg MPG etc, a pc based DIS (my car hasnt got one) would be useful to work out on certain journeys some values from the engine.

I did find some utilities that work with wireless odb cables to an iphone etc so I know theres somthin out there

Guess you looked into fitting DIS or car to old?

I had considered it, did search for retro fitting DIS but didnt come up with much, and not sure if its above my capability to install.

I understand you will need new clocks off a similar car and the wiper stock with the controls but what about recoding the clocks for the cars immob?

I assume my car should be ok and not too old to install DIS (1996 1.9 TDI with a 1Z engine block) as VCDS seems to report valid data in the measuring blocks like fuel left in the tank etc.

Find a suitable set of clocks take it to audi & get coded in.
