I've just bought a beautiful RS6, my first really nice car and I love it to bits. Basically I do bike track days so I need a towbar to transport the bikes (R1 & R6 + trailer is probably about 600kg). I know the RS6 isn't rated for towing but as we all know it's perfectly capable.
I purchased a westfalia removable towbar for an A6 and after a day of messing around getting it fitted we got the bumper back on and to my horror I realized the bar doesn't go low enough for the tow ball to clip in, and the electrics don't swing down low enough either, still fully hidden when lowered. Dad's idea was to basically hack the bumper up at which point is dug my heels in and said no fricken way! The car's in too good condition to damage. Has anyone got any ideas? If there's another tow bar that comes down lower I'll happily buy it, i just want this to work!
PF Jones and Westfalia won't touch the issue due to legality reasons. Audi have made this a major ball ache by not type rating this car! ><
