Now I've passed 1500 miles of driving sensibly, I decided to let the car rev a bit higher and see just how this compares to my previous car which was a 2ltr diesel with plenty of torque.
on a clear road, dry and safe with no traffic, leaving in 4th and seeing what happened passed the usual 2800 rpm.....holy moly the thing just wants to let rip! Without realising it, I was touching 90 and still had a couple of gears to use. Yes I was braking the limit on the motorway but only because I had no idea it would get there so quickly. Yes I miss the torque of the TDI but the petrol isn't that far behind on paper for 0 to 60 and same for the top speed. I'm currently using £30 less per month on fuel!!
All I need now is for the dreaded actuator rod rattle to get fixed and I will be a seriously happy camper.
good luck to everyone this weekend!!
