I work in insurance - so let me tell you a few "tips" that may help you out
Increased excess = reduced premium
Keep milage to 4k - 6k
Additional Securtiy ( after market )
Kept in Garage.....
Declaring mods is a touchy subject with me at work - i dont believe anything from Halfords you can call a mod - but be selective and use your own judgement. Ignorance is sometimes bliss...." not that im aware of" is a good one liner.

You will have to bite the bullit, i imagine you have done comparethemarket.com.....
As watered down as it is, it does help. Also, check the adverts at the back of max power - i remember there being loads of insurance companies in the back for young drivers who are ( shall we say)..."high risk"

You probably won't be able to do much about it mate. A friend of mine is 20 and just passed, he ended up with a 1.2 corsa special edition and pays 2.5k with 2 named drivers. That's just as low as he could get, and a 1.6 A3 8P was coming in around 5 grand! Good luck though.
A3 3.2 Quattro Sport
Holy Shi* Thats seams soo high. I got a great quote this year with admiral multi car if there is any other vehicles in you house. Im looking at paying 1100 when my renewal is due in 3 weeks. I have a 1.6 A3 8P @ 19 Year Old and 2 Years NCB. Keep Looking mate!
Wanted:
A3 8P Sline/S3 Rear Spoiler
If you belive this webiste only, run the quotes and check everything yourself.
In my case which is ub10 postocde, for 2004 audi a3 3.2
In garage 1124
On driveway 987
On the street 802
questions?
Its all based on statistics and in some areas more cars get stolen from driveway or garage than from street. Reason? Thieves when see car parked on driveway they know straight away which house to break in and steal the keys. With cars parked in garage after getting in from back they dont have stress related with opening car as they do it safely under cover of garage etc.
Its not the same for everyone but ALWAYS check all options, sometimes you will be surprised![]()
Can't get cover for my toy unless it is garaged.
Saddly your age and lack of NCB means you are a high risk so will attract a high premium
Try a second named driver. Mine dropped far more with the second named driver than the first.
What's your postcode? Some (Salford, Bradford etc) are high risk no matter what you do.
Are there any "permutations" of your occupation you could use? Some are higher risk than others - unemployed is worse than many, for example. Try a similar job title, it might not help but it can make a little difference.
not trying to be funny, but someone as young as you, newly passed w/ no experience and driving something w/ "sport" in its name....i'm surprised you got a quote as low as that, TBH. example (probably a radical one, but still) :-
Car insurance and young drivers: why one guy chose a tractor over his VW polo
also, i have heard several times before that garaging a car can add, as apparently the amount of claims caused by people dropping tools/paint etc on a garaged car is pretty high. as said, try sdome options, just be aware if you say you garage it and you don't it's fraud : therefore if it does get nicked off your driveway you won't be able to claim w/out potentially dropping yourself in it.
Insurance is normally high for 18-21 year olds, then slightly lower for 22-25, then gets more reasonable.
Holding your license for 4+ years helps - hence why I keep telling 17 year olds to take their lessons now even if they won't drive for a few years.
I'd expect it to be expensive, but ~£2k should be achievable unless in a dodgy postcode. It's still a lot of sheets, but better than £3k
tch, just tried Flux, got the same as Sky, about double my cheapest quote.
As has been said:
Limited mileage (I read somewhere 8k is the magic number?)
Add experienced drivers (the more the better)
And for future reference... never buy a car without first checking you can afford to insure it...
