Radio Signal Amp??

Recently fitted and Alpine headunit into my car. I got the correct ISO adpater from Autoleads, and also the Radio Signal Amp thing. But I am getting a crap reception in places that the old standard head unit was fine.

Its wired up correctly as far as I know. Its wired to the aerial amp wire from the head unit (blue wire) on the Alpine headunit.

Can anyone advise what might be causing the poor reception? or an alternate way to wire the signal amp that will make it work?

PS I have a A4 1.8T Sport '97 if that helps.

I have the Auto lead version of that but no joy with it.

That's cuase it's Autoleads garbage. Nothing they make works properly.
